Buying a Dress
Hi,Does anyone know a place with a lot of wedding dresses in stock to try on. Or a wedding dress warehouse? I am looking for a dress, but the places that I've been to only have about 10 dresses in stock so I was hoping to find a place that has a lot of dresses to choose from.

Try RK Bridal in the city. I haven't been there but have heard great things about them.

I third them and I have been there - I got my dress there and my BM dresses thru their No Frills program. I love them and their service. HOWEVER, their dresses are very picked through and therefore dirty. If this is really the first time you're trying on dresses, I would go else where and then hit there when you have a much better idea of what they look like on you. Trying on a dirty dress and imagining what you'll look like that day is very difficult. But go there before you purchase because their service and prices are excellent!

Re: Buying a Dress
RK had a huge selection of dresses, but if you go on the weekend, you may feel really rushed. When you go in, they tell you to pick out 4 or 5 dresses that you want to try on, but it's sort of hard to tell what the dresses really look like on the rack with the plastic on. Also, depending on the attendent that you get, they may or may not be good about bringing you dresses that would flatter you.My suggestion is to go to a higher end place where you get more individual attention and figure out what styles/desginers you like and then go to RK.
Have fun!

Re: Buying a Dress
How does it work at RK Bridal? Do you have to make an appt like Kleinfelds or can you just walk in. And are their prices better than buying online?

Re: Buying a Dress
You have to make an appointment to go there. I called them last week and was informed of this. I think their online prices are better but you cannnot have the dress altered by them. You must go elsewhere.

Re: Buying a Dress
I have been to RK a few times and they have a decent selection of wedding gowns. Also try H & S Bridal - 1385 Broadway btw 37th/38th Street - 11 th floor room 1104. Hannah is there all during the week. I went on a weekday.
Also Kleinfeld in Brooklyn

Re: Buying a Dress
Actually, you just walk in at RK. They don't take appointments, which is why it can get a little crazy on the weekends. But I've gone after work (they're open until 7) on a weekday and it's really uncrowded and much calmer.Good luck! They have a good selection; definitely work checking out!
