Approx. how many sick days do you take per year?

Maybe 5 every year? Once every couple months or so? I get 1 3/4 sick and 1 3/4 vac. a month, so definitely use less than I have accumulated. I generally really am sick when I use them--I get more vacation days than I can ever use so I don't abuse the sick.

I used to take all the time (5 days). But now I have the option to work from home, that works out better for everyone.

I don't think I have taken a single sick day in the past five years. I have come in late and left early because I was sick, but I have never called in sick for a whole day.

Wow, Juliet!! I admire you. As for me, I probably average 4 a year but we have so few holidays and lousy vacation time. I actually would love to take more.

We get 5 days paid each time we call in sick. I usually call in 2x a year maybe so I get 10 days.

Thanks. The truth is, my body has been trained to get sick on long weekends or during holidays. Last Xmas was the flu (my company closes that week between xmas and new years)

One MLK weekend I had a stomach virus.

My body just knows the 'right' times to get sick.

I called in sick last week for the first time in over two years. I had a really bad cold. I hate it when people come to work sick and spread their germs around.

eta: we earn one sick day a month.

I get 12 days per year. I prob use about 5 each year. But this year I have already used 3 when I had the flu!

I get 1 per month...and we carry them over from year to year...so 10 I guess and 2 personal days

ever since they slashed our vacation time in half (used to be 4 weeks now only 2) we use the sick time as vacation time. but in my office people (2 people) call in once every 2 weeks & GET AWAY with it, very annoying, the favortism in my office is INSANE!!
I need to leave this job!!!

Yes, you heard right! We can take as many sick 'weeks' as long as you get a doctor note and we get paid. If you don't get a doctor note, 2 weeks per year paid.

Yup, but it's not 10 seperate days. 5 days paid each time I am sick. They give you 5 days to return to work!
