This may be a dumb question...what is the difference between.....
Interlude & Prelude? You would think after being to tons of weddings I could figure this one out. Is the Interlude the "Introduction"? Before anyone walks down? Then what is Prelude???? Ugh!!!

Re: This may be a dumb question...what is the difference between.....
here goes
Prelude music is played 15 to 30 minutes before the ceremony begins will the guest are being seated.
Processional music is played as the wedding party enter the ceremony site.
Recessional music is played as the wedding party leave the ceremony site.
Postlude music is played while the guest leave the ceremony site
hope this helps

Re: This may be a dumb question...what is the difference between.....
I'm not sure, but I think interlude is a piece of music played (or a special song performed) in the middle of the ceremony, maybe right after the readings and sermon, but before the exchange of vows.
I may be wrong, but I am associating "interlude" with "intermission" at a broadway show or something of the sort.

Re: This may be a dumb question...what is the difference between.....
I think an interlude is a kind of pausing time between two parts of the ceremony

Re: This may be a dumb question...what is the difference between.....
I hate to pull out my "teacher" hat on this one but I am going to anyway.
Prefixes:
PRE - before - as in BEFORE the ceremony
INTER - between - as in BETWEEN parts of the ceremony
PRO - projecting forward - as in moving FORWARD in the ceremony
RE - back or backward - as in going BACK down the aisle
POST - after - as in AFTER the ceremony
I had to take out my APA manual from grad school for some of this. I'm not as sharp as I used to be. I hope it helps. I am pretty sure about the accuracy about this infomation. If you are still in question, simply ask your DJ or band company for help.
