Re: All-Inclusive Resorts: Tipping????

I was reading on the message boards for Sandals and what they suggest if you are going to place like Jamaica is bringing presents instead. They suggested school supplies like chalk, pens, paper etc. Even a little would help out.
This is what I plan to do. They will refuse monentary tips and can lose their jobs if they accept them.

Re: All-Inclusive Resorts: Tipping????

The all-inclusive resorts usually do not accept tips like mentioned. That is all I have heard.

Re: All-Inclusive Resorts: Tipping????

I've been to quite a few all-inclusies and they will not and do not accept any tips. I have seen some people sneak tips but it depends on the 'service' if they accept it. They get into a lot of trouble if they get caught. As I hear it the jobs at the resorts are usually the best paying on the islands and the locals wouldn't want to do anything that may make them loose their jobs.

Re: All-Inclusive Resorts: Tipping????

honestly, if you like the service I would tip... we always do... like Christine mentioned, when we went to Dominican Republic, we brought some pencils, coloring books etc and we left it for our cleaning lady, when we ran out of things to give her, we left $2-3 for her just to say thanks because she was great... we have been to quite a few all-inclusive resorts and we always tip if we like the person and we feel that the person is trying really hard...
