Re: What have u heard about GW vs. Kea lani (maui)
Have you been on tripadvisor.com? I have heard better things about Kea Lani for HM and couples because GW has a high kid factor (depending on the season) and it is very expensive. It has the beautiful pools and water park, etc. but they charge for everything...towels, chairs, things that are included in other properties. I have never been, but my fi was stuck on GW and I decided against it because of the $ factor...but if you have it to spare, I don't think you can go wrong with either.Hope I helped...good luck!

Re: What have u heard about GW vs. Kea lani (maui)
We stayed at the grand wailea and it was beautiful. The pools are amazing. Yes it was expensive but we didn't pay for anythig extra like towels or chairs it was all included. The rooms are pretty and the bathroom is huge, they each have a glass stall shower and an oversized bathtub. The food waas very good at the hotel but it was pricey. you are in walking distance to a shopping center that has other restaraunts and shops. You get leis when you arrive and they always had ice cold water at the pool that was free and complimentary juice in the lobby.

Is the Kea Lani within walking distance of the shops & restaurants?I heard the GW 'nickel & dimes you' but then again, I heard that is the norm wherever you go in
Hawaii...
I've read on tripadvisor.com that the Kea Lani has suite sized rooms -- but I'm thinking in Maui - we'll be out of our rooms mostly doing excursions and laying by the pool.
Can you make the GW a peaceful experience even though it is so busy?
