Help Past Westbury Manor Brides or anyone who's been to a wedding there!!!!
I was speaking to someone last night about Westbury Manor and they said they went to a wedding there and it was terrible!!!! They said the food was bad. They said that they went last year. I'm freaking out now!!! Please tell me what you guys thought of it. I already have left 2 deposits so it's booked now I'm so nervous. The reason I picked WEstbury Manor was because I heard that the food was great. Help!!!!Andrea

My wedding was there on 3/19/04. We had the 7 choice menu; people were raving about it for months. I wouldn't worry; Scotto Bros. places are known for their food and service.

Re: Help Past Westbury Manor Brides or anyone who's been to a wedding there!!!!
1st thing to do is take a deep breath and IGNORE. I booked someplace that sopposedly had the worst food according to some people on this site and I was worried..even though I had had tastings
The day of the wedding came and ALL of my guests ate and complained to me after we returned from HM that we made them gain weight cause the food was good. lol So with that said, everyone has different tastes and perhaps that individual didnt like certain types of food. For example, I went to an indian wedding and certain dishes were spicier than I am used to, same with an italian wedding, almost everything had a sauce and my husband HATED it..not because the food was bad but because he is not a sauce/gravy kind of guy. Next time the person is insensitive put them on the spot..what did you eat..was it salty, dry? make them give examples that way at least if the feeling are legit you can 'correct'.

I was just at a wedding there in November and I thought the food was good- it would have been better if my filet mignon wasn't an end piece

I wouldn't worry. I was there this past September and the food was amazing-- AMAZING. They have a restuarant there too-- you should go for dinner one night. Its a bit pricey but i fyou tell them you are getting married there soon they will probably throw in some champagne at least!

My uncle was married there in August and everything from the cocktail hour to the entrees to the cake was out of this world. I don't think the Scotto Brothers could destroy any kind of food..they are wonderful, and I promise you you'll hear nothing but rave reviews from most people.Don't worry!!!! :)

I had my wedding there in June and it was wonderful. I was one of those rare brides who actually ate at my wedding and I loved everything!I also agree about Scotto Bros as a whole. Good service, good food. You're in good hands.

You can't go wrong with the Scotto Brothers...
Everyone is going to have an opinion about EVERYTHING!!!! Sometimes it helps to not read the review on here for a while...thats what I did about the Swan CLub...because they are helpful BUT YOU WILL GO NUTS!! I MADE MYSELF SICK

Dont worry so much, that is just one person's opinion. I am having worries about that too and I just realized that it will be extremely hard to please all 100 plus guests, so its better not to worry. I say go for a tasting and see for yourself. If you like then who cares what others think!!!

Re: Help Past Westbury Manor Brides or anyone who's been to a wedding there!!!!
Definitely make a reservation at the restaurant and let them know you are getting married there. The food is wonderful. I went with FH and his parents before we booked. Everyone ordered something different and everything was delicious. The wait staff gave us little freebies too (a bottle of wine and a special dessert). We plan to go back for our 'pre-anniversary' to see what the flowers will look like and have brunch at the restuarant. It is expensive, but well worth it to feel better about your choice.Just as a word of advice, don't listen to negative opinions. You'll drive yourself crazy.

Re: Help Past Westbury Manor Brides or anyone who's been to a wedding there!!!!
I have never heard anything but wonderful things about Westbury Manor. I would try to get in their for some sort of tasting if that would put your mind at ease. Remember also that people like what they are used to. It is all subjective. There are perpetually miserable people out there who are never happy. I think you chose wisely and a place of that magnitude would not survive in such a wealthy suburb if their service and food were substandard. Enjoy it and have fun!!!By the way...do you happen to know if Westbury Manor is handicap accessible? I am curious.

I always loved the food when I was there. My dad got married there and my stepmoms retirement party was there. The food was great both times!!

Re: Help Past Westbury Manor Brides or anyone who's been to a wedding there!!!!
I went to a wedding there years ago and it was great. One word of advice from an 'old married' lady....take everything anyone says about your wedding planning with a grain of salt. What one person dislikes 10 others may love.
Follow your heart in your decisions and your wedding will be wonderful.

Hey Girls!Another future WM bride. I ate there this past weekend and the food was great! Please don't worry. Everyone will have their opinions about something. If you let every single person's opinion get to you, you will make yourself crazy! Relax and rest assured - you are at a BEAUTIFUL place, with wonderful food, great service, and most of all - where you and your FH want to be! It's going to be perfect!
