Engagement Gifts for HIM
I have been saving to get FH something very nice for our engagement. Thank goodness he is patient. I am curious to know what some of you ladies have done for your FH's. He does not need or want a watch as he has two very good ones. He doesn't want or need cufflinks either. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I bought him a ring to wear on his right hand. However his fingers are too fat that it ended up on his left ring finger.

Re: Engagement Gifts for HIM
I bought DF a dress watch and a ring. He asked me to marry him on a cruise to the Bahamas. While there I got a great deal on a nice watch. Over the holidays (December) we went to California and took a day trip to Mexico. I got him this silver ring with a center ring that spins. He wanted to wear that ring as his wedding band but I did not think it was wedding band like enough - so I got him a wedding band. He wears the silver ring on his right hand ring finger.

Re: Engagement Gifts for HIM
Personally, I don't think it is necessary. I would get him something for the wedding like his tux.

Re: Engagement Gifts for HIM
Buying an engagement gift is something I WANT to do. It is not something I HAVE to do. He has done so much for me that I want to show my appreciation for what he means to me.

Re: Engagement Gifts for HIM
My mother asked me if I was getting him an engagement band. I didn't know I was supposed to get him an engagement gift. Honestly, we do not have the money and decided not to get anything. Is that really bad?

Re: Engagement Gifts for HIM
I don't think it is bad at all. I hope noone thinks that I think it is mandatory. It was not my intention to make anyone feel bad! I am sorry if I did.My sister gave her husband a watch. I just wanted to do something inexpensive and sweet - maybe a Playstation.

Re: Engagement Gifts for HIM
What about tickets to a sporting event or night on the town and tickets to a show. Nice set of cufflinks that he can wear for the wedding.

Re: Engagement Gifts for HIM
No, I don't think you made anyone feel bad at all. i am actually feeling better to know that I am not the only bride not buying their FH a gift. I like the idea of something small though. Inexpensive but thoughtful.

Re: Engagement Gifts for HIM
Good! I would actually like to combine an engagement gift with a graduation gift as FH is finishing his MBA very soon. I am thinking maybe something like a Tiffany pen. That won't set me back too much.

Re: Engagement Gifts for HIM
I spent $100 in total. I wish I could have spent more - but I am in law school and not working. I got him a Skaggen watch for $77 in the Bahamas. It was $250 in the US. The sterling silver ring was $12 b/c I got it in Mexico. I wish I could spend more too, but DF knows that I love him and that is what is important.I did not mean to make anyone feel badly. Sorry.

Re: Engagement Gifts for HIM
I got FI an engagement ring. I bought him a white gold Claddagh ring which he wears on his left hand. He didn't want anything that looked like a wedding ring because we aren't married yet. I got this for FI because I thought it was a nice idea. And I got a really good price on it!Welcome New Vendors
