Duet vs. Silver Fox????

My FI and I don't know what to do??? If anyone has seen either or both what are you thoughts????

The guy at Duet was so nice but it seemed unorganized or something in there but the prices were definetely right for us...loved the casual shoot and video too!

Silver FOx seemed very on the ball....prices were a little steep not sure how I feel about a la carte...

WHO SHOULD WE CHOOSE???

I went with Duet...I didn't go and meet with silverfox because of the prives but I thought Duet wa fantastic. They defintly had the 'look' I wanted.

you can always choose silverfox for photo and duet for video.... as way of getting both if you arent sure...

if you feel more comfortable w/silver fox, then i think you should go w/them--and i'm sure you can negotiate on the pricing.

there are people on these boards that swear by both photographers--so you're going to get biased answers. i think the best thing to do is to go w/who you feel more comfortable with.

We used SilverFox...
Here are a few photojournalistic proofs...(Any b&W w/color touches were done by me...not them and there are a few nonprofessional ones in this album...but you will get the idea.)

We had 2 -- Franco for photojournalism...and Frank for formals.

We'd highly reccomend Franco. Frank was good, but he missed a few important shots...like DH signing the Ketubah

We saw Silverfox on Sat, and loved them! We felt very comfortable with them. We were there for almost 2 hours! At one point, they had us in their 'digital darkroom' showing us proofs of an East Wind wedding, and how they edit proofs.

BUT - they are pricey. FH is so frugal, but he is actually willing to book them b/c we loved them so much (and he feels this is the one thing that will be around for years).

We are seeing Duet on Thurs, I will post my thoughts on that when we return.

If you can afford SF, than do it. Book whose ever work you loved most.

Either choice sounds great though.

We were there on Saturday too! What time were you there?? We were over there from 3-4:45 because we saw Starlight too

In knew you were there b/c I saw a post from you earlier in the week saying you were going on Sat. I wrote back when, but u prob didnt see it.

Anyway, we were there between 12:15 and 2:30ish. I actually kept my eyes peeled for a blond, but didn't want to admit to my FI. He already thinks I'm nuts!

I'm with you though. I have a bad feeling it's going to come down to price between Duet and SF. Both have great reps, so I'm sure we'll be fine. Let us know when u decide, and I'll do the same.

Beautyq115 - That is a crack up. I was there w/ FH - I'm chubby, he's short - we're cute.

Leese - we really didn't start negotiating price since we had only been to one other photographer, and since we weren't ready to sign a contract. I did mention cash, and hesaid 'Cash is King - that helps.' PS - we also chose Don's work (like you) when we looked at albums.

I will keep you all posted as developments arise.

SF mentioned that engagement/casual shoot is complimentary. Also tried to not sell us Thanks yous or Portraits, but to do them ourselves through Snapfish or Shutterfly.

OH....we were never told about an engagment shoot!!!! That was something that I loved about Duet...but I didn't like that Silver Fox didn't have...when did he tell you that???
