First Fitting-- Anyone have a hard time figuring out exactly how the dress will look on them?

I had my first fitting on Saturday-- and while I was excited to have my dress on.. The dress was big- as I needed to order up sizes to accomodate my boobs, so they took it in- but just by pinning it- it stuck out all along the sides so it was really hard to visualize how the dress will actually fit me.. since it was hard to tell where I ended and the dress began.

Also, I found the dress to be very stiff- I mean, also when you try the sample on- it is has been handled a lot, so it has softened up- plus they pull it from behind with the clips-- so, you can a full frontal view of how it would look when fitted to you.

I was a little disappointed that I was not blown away by myself in the dress- I know I will need to wait til the next fitting to really see how it will look- but anyone else have an experience like this?

I was thinking about the same thing. I also had to order way up for my boobs, and I am concerned about how it will all come together.

Wait until the next fitting. Once the dress is fitted properly, it will feel like YOUR dress.

I know I know// the second fitting it will really fit- although it will not account for the pounds I will lose by then.. I will probably go down another size.. good- but, more work for Stella my seamstress!

besides the whole back of my dress fiasco, i too hated that the dress was so stiff --it was kind of weird...

i am sure you will like it more once it is fitted to your body...

oh --how's everything going with the carltun and fbb? have you gone for a tasting?

I totally did. It was better than the sample with all the binder clips, etc but it's still so hard to have some real idea of what it's going to look like. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for Friday (my 2nd) - that everything is what I'm picturing it to be.

thanks-- did you figure out what to do with your dress-- I really think you can send it back and have them re-do the skirt.. I have friends who have done that.

Tasting is on Thursday- then menu selection on Sat.. The following Sat I have a f/u appt with FBB-- I am not seeing samples until the end of the month.

randi --yes, i am going back with my mom to look at it again this week...i spoke to the designer and she said i can send it back to have them fix the skirt...

luckily I have a corset back otherwise I would have had to order way up.

Im sure once you see it fittedit will be gorgeous

I was wondering the same. They had to order a size or 2 up to fit my boobs too, and I'm wondering how mine will turn out as well.

OMG I never thought of this...that it will be stiff... As for my boobs..I need to fill in the space with padding
