Heart rate vs sex of baby?????

I went to my apt. today and I wanted to know is the tale true or did some of you have a girl with a slow heart rate? My baby's HR was 128 and the Dr. said 'the tale would say your having a boy'. Want some opinions. TIA Sorry for the silly question.

Re: Heart rate vs sex of baby?????

I am 15 weeks PG. I go for my sono in 5 weeks to find out what i am having, I just wanted to know if there have been people with boys with high heart rates and girls with low HR? I don't know what the normal range is either for a baby's HR. I thought mine was low.

Re: Heart rate vs sex of baby?????

My baby boy typically had a higher heart rate (160ish)..so he didn't follow the tale. At times it was low but for the most part he was high.

Re: Heart rate vs sex of baby?????

It just an old wives tale. Normal fetal heart range is about 110's-160's.

Re: Heart rate vs sex of baby?????

Emmas heart rate was 130-140 and Jeremys was 120-130. the only time the heart rates change (lower for boys) is when you are in labor.

Re: Heart rate vs sex of baby?????

My technician was actually talking about how that's a complete myth. My boy's heart rate has been 140 or around there every time.

Re: Heart rate vs sex of baby?????

While DH and I do not want to know the sex of the baby - according to the myth we should be expecting a boy. Let's wait and see....

Re: Heart rate vs sex of baby?????

I actually asked the doctor if there was any truth to this and he said 'NO' It was just an old wives tale..
For the last 3 doctors visits, my baby's heart rate has been 140's, 150's and the last one 130's.... He said that the heart rate often varies and you'll get a range of numbers.
