Dinner for Wedding Vendors
Do we have to include to the Reception Hall a count of the vendors for dinner, like the photo, video, dj's, etc. or i wonder if the catering hall gives us a discount on that.

Re: Dinner for Wedding Vendors
our vendors were $35 per head, we had 5.Sometimes if you are under your minimum a hall may just add your vendors under the minimum so that you end up not paying extra.

Re: Dinner for Wedding Vendors
every BM that I spoke to offered a discount for vendors, but when you give your estimate, you should give it a little padding for things like that- just be careful what you agree as your minimum, because they will hold you to that.Congrats, by the way. I just booked myself this past Saturday. I really thought it was going to be a bear-had a list of 11 potential places- but when I walked in to the Westbury Manor, I was in love. Case Closed.
Best of Luck.

Re: Dinner for Wedding Vendors
They definitely should. Mine are half price (it would have been free had I chosen a house vendor) and if I'm under the minumum they'll count vendors.

Re: Dinner for Wedding Vendors
when we were looking most of the halls told us they are half if we had the mininmum BUT if we were including them as part of our count to reach the minimum then they were full price

Re: Dinner for Wedding Vendors
They still are included in the final total of guests, but you are charged separately. Mine were half price, but they need the total for dinner totals to prepare

Re: Dinner for Wedding Vendors
you should ask your BM. WE talked to a place where the vendors were half price, but we had to meet a 200 minimum of full price guests before we could get them at half price.

Re: Dinner for Wedding Vendors
It seems that they probably throw so much food out that the vendors don't get to eat what the guests eat anyway. It's a shame that they charge anything.

Re: Dinner for Wedding Vendors
Do you ask the vendors before the wedding if they are going to be eating-bc then how would the hall know how much to charge you. I feel funny asking them if they want to eat, but I do know that sometimes they don't eat and I wouldn't want to assume they will if they aren't going to.

With our photographer, eatting was in the contract. We never discussed it, but when we were reading through the contract we noticed that one of the clauses was that we were to provide her and her assistant with a meal. So that answered that question with respect to her.

Yes, our hall is charging us half price for our vendors if we are not using in-house vendors
(otherwise it's free).

Re: Dinner for Wedding Vendors
I'll review my vendor contracts for DJ and photo/video. Then I will talk to my Banquet Mgr. and ask about the costs. Hopefully they'll be half price, just like the children's plates.

Yes, if you're planning on feeding them, you have to include them in the count, but definately ask to see if a discount is avaible. Our hall offered vendor meals at half price.
