Plus size Wedding Dresses??
Anyone have any advice on where to go and try on wedding dresses, when you are not a size 10?All the dresses are around 10/12 right?
How would I get those dresses past my knees?
Any advice?

Re: Plus size Wedding Dresses??
I was a size 20/22 and was able to try on many dresses.. there are plenty of posts for different places. I found my dress out in patchogue bridal center, but commack bridal center has a ton, lynbrook bridal has a bunch, stick with the centers not too much with the up-scale's because they don't have a large range of sample sizes... macy's in manhasset had a few, i hear a lot about lillette's good and bad (thats in baldwin).. best of luck

I got my dress at David's Bridal (actually 2 dresses) and then I tried on at a bunch of other stores. If you call them to make an appointment, they can tell you if they have plus-size dresses. for you to try on. That's what I asked when I did it!!!!

THEY HAVE TONS OF DRESSES AT DAVIDS BRIDAL. THEY WERE GREAT THERE AND I ALSO MET WITH BECCA. THE ONLY THING THAT I DIDNT LIKE WAS THE ALTERATIONS DEPARTMENT THERE.

I got my MOH dress there for my sister's wedding. The price was right, but that's about all that was right. That store is a nightmare to deal with - always a mob sceen. Their alterations people are not very professional - IMO. But... I did get the dress for $120, can't really complain I guess.

Re: Plus size Wedding Dresses??
I tried on a lot of Dresses at David's also - but I bought mine from an ebay seller. I also tried on dresses at the Bridal Suite in Bay Shore and Angel's Bridal in East Islip. Almost every place I've been too while looking for dresses for my mom has had plus size.. but David's actually had dresses in 'real' sizes - and by that I mean and 22 is a 22, where my mom normally wears a 14 and had to buy a 22 cause they were cut so small.Good luck and it'll be ok!! You'll have fun!!!

Re: Plus size Wedding Dresses??
Try Lillette's in Baldwin. I worked with Geri and everything was perfect - she doesnt make you feel like a plus sized bride..Some places make you feel like a lesser person. I walked into the other bridal place in Baldwin or lynbrook (I forget the name, on sunrise highway) and when I was working with the woman, she asked for my size and I told her, she just sighed and walked out - *** is that?
I knew right then that I wasnt going to buy there.
