Calling DUET Brides: I want to change my contract...

I originally signed the contract for photo/video coverage for up to 12 hours on my wedding day (from noon to midnight).

Since my ceremony starts at 3:00 pm, I want to change the contract so that they will cover up to 10 hours (from 2:00 pm to midnight). It doesn't make sense for them to be at my house 3 hours before the ceremony.

I want to pay for my engagment session with the money I save by reducing the number of hours that day. But so far, they don't want to do it.

What do you think?

Makes sense. They are so wonderful, I can't imagine they would not work with you.

Did you call Nicole?

I cannot begin to tell you how many things I changed after I signed the contract! I am sure you will have no problems

Re: Calling DUET Brides: I want to change my contract...

Not sure if I'm understanding right or not, did you say that you tried to change it and they didn't let you, or should you try to change it?

If you tried, and they didn't let you, I'm not surprised. My contract says one day of wedding coverage up to 12 hours, so it's not something you're paying extra for, you can have them for any amount of time on your wedding day for a maximum of 12 hours, so it would make sense that they wouldn't shorten it and allow you to use that to take engagement pics that we have to pay extra for.

Just my opinion though...

Re: Calling DUET Brides: I want to change my contract...

Hey, busybee705, we are getting married on the same day - and I am using Duet, too! I think they have 2 teams of photographers.

On my contract, it says up to 12 hours, as well. I dont think you would be discounted for less hours, because the set price is for any hours, whether it be 8, 10, whatever, as long as its 12 or less. But they seem really flexible about other things, like instead of that really huge picture you get, they changed it for me to like 5 5x7's or 2 8x10's.

Re: Calling DUET Brides: I want to change my contract...

I sent an email to Nicole and explained to her the situation. I wrote to her that I didn't need the photographers for 3 hours before my ceremony. What are they going to do while I'm out doing my hair?

She told me that I would be paying for their services from noon to midnight, regardless of whether they'll be there or not.

That's a little messed up, considering I read in one of the boards that a bride got the engagement shoot for FREE. I'm not asking for much, I think.

Re: Calling DUET Brides: I want to change my contract...

Yup

I've heard of a bride that got hers for free, but I forgot who it was.

I sent Nicole another email, I'm still waiting for her to respond. Although I think she'll avoid me... I really don't think I'm asking for much.
