Day 1 of MOB dress shopping-- 'Elegant Bride' UPDATED

My mother found 2 dresses she really likes at Elegant Bride in Roslyn. I liked the dresses as well though they were a little more $$ than we'd originally thought. It was also weird that they didn't have the manufacturers' names in the dresses, just the price. Anyway, I think she'd like to order the dress from them and have it shipped to her in FL for alterations. They were talking about keeping the dress there for her and doing the alterations the DAY before the wedding (?!). This doesn't sound right to me, but I wanted to find out what you all think. Thanks!

Also, if anyone has a clue as to what dress designers they carry, that'd be a help too--I'm hoping we can find the dresses for a lower price somewhere else.

UPDATE--I found the dresses! Which one do you like better? The first pic is Mon Cheri Montage and the color would be Antique Gold (the dress on the left). The second pic is Mon Cheri Cameron Blake and the color would be the same as in the pic, Champagne.

i like the second one better. I am not a fan of tiered bottoms, however it looks very appropriate on this particular dress

Both of them are very pretty, but I prefer the first one. Im not crazy about the skirt in the second one. Both colors are very nice though.

Oh and now that you found the dress, maybe check and see if a few more places have it, maybe even have her look in FL if shes going to be there. Maybe you would be able to find it a little cheaper?

I like the second dress. My mother got a Mon Cheri dress from Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. I don't know if you got it but they just sent out a coupon for a percentage off any purchase because they just opened a new MOB section. (I can't remember how much it was for because we gave it away since my mom already got her dress, but maybe someone could share theirs)

Wow--thanks for the tip. We're going to check out RK Bridal tomorrow since it looks like they carry both lines. She's only here til Tuesday, but maybe we can hit Bridal Reflections that morning before she leaves.

I like the first one better. Since your mom would want the dress sent to her in FL, why don't you se if you can get it cheaper on www.houseofbrides.com. I know they carry Mon Cheri wedding gowns, so I would assume they have MOB gowns as well.
I acually just looked and the first dress (the on shown in blue) would only be $415 on HOB.

ETS- I found th second one too and it's only $303. I'm guessing that these prices are a lot better than you saw in the store.

I'm using elegant bride for my wedding dress. a MOB suggested it to us because they needed soooo many alterations. I didn't like the missing tags, but I loved the dress that I tried on, so I didn't care. They do it so you can't shop around. once you buy it, they tell you the designer. It is kinda weird, but they have very good seamstresses.

Kleinfelds did that with my wedding gown. It had their label in it and I couldn't find the dress anywhere else. It turns out that it was a Mon Cheri and I could have saved quit a few hundred dollars had I known that.

Mon Cheri is the designer of my dress. They had it Estelles for like 600... They don't do alterations and just gave me the dress when it came in. you should check it they have it there.

Thank you SO much!! Yes, that price is much lower than what we found at Elegant Bride--$695 for the 1st one and $595 for the 2nd. Thanks!!!
