How much is too much time with his guy friends?

Where would you draw the line? DH left yesterday morning at 8AM for a weekend in Atlantic City with the guys (after we went out with them Friday night and last weekend), and is not back yet at 6PM Sunday. I've got to say it *****--I don't feel like I have a husband when I spend the weekend without him.

Re: How much is too much time with his guy friends?

Well to be honest if he left here at 8 am...probably got there at about 11 or so..even if he stayed about 4 hours he wouldn't be back yet
I would think he isn't going to be back till a little later.

And since the 'atlantic city' thing isn't often. I would be soo upset..But would DEFINATELY want this next weekend to have some husband/wife time..do something special

I should have been more specific--he left at 8AM YESTERDAY. Still gone 6PM TODAY.

ETA: Caps not out of anger, just frustration at the situation.

I am the one who always go out with my friends. Dale never goes out with any of his friends.... Ever...

I try and get him to go out but he rather stay home.

Re: How much is too much time with his guy friends?

I would be fine with occasional guy weekends but I feel like he should make the effort to spend time alone with you before going away for the weekend not with the people he's going away with.
DH and I are fortunate that we mostly have the same friends and most activities are couple activies so I am not sure where I would draw the line. I think if it makes you feel uncomfortable in your relationship then it's a problem.

I wish my DH would spend more alone time with his friends!! He used to but now everyone is pretty much coupled off and we always 'all' do things together.

Re: How much is too much time with his guy friends?

I wish mine would spend time with his friends. He never does anything on his nights off. He doesn't know many people on Long Island, so I try to get him to hang out with my married friends. He says he just wants to relax when he's off. I don't think that is healthy at all.

Re: How much is too much time with his guy friends?

I guess it's just that they keep calling like he is still single to go out at least one night a weekend just with the guys. Maybe if I had a bunch of single girl friends to go out with it would be different... But I'm just not as much the going out type.

This might be the reason why it bothers you so much. Does your DH as you to come along? You should talk to him about it and maybe try hanging out with them every now and then too.

He does when there are other women going. When it's just guys, he doesn't. I do hang out when there are other women, but when it is all guys I know they act differently when I am there and really want the guy bonding time.

Re: How much is too much time with his guy friends?

I definitely think you should talk to your DH about this. I have had many similar fights with DH in the past- he's been known to stay out without calling, though that hasn't happened in a LONG time. I know you don't want to fel like you're being a PITA, but the more you let things that really bother you go, the more likely they are to happen. Let your DH know that you totally understand that he needs alone time with the guys, but you feel like that's a little too often and it's cutting into time the two of you should be spending as a couple. You're not dating anymore, you're married and he needs to take your feelings more seriously than ever before.

Re: How much is too much time with his guy friends?

to be totally honest...I don't think married guys need to be spending weekends away from their wives (I belive the same for the ladies).....a day, MAYBE an overnight.....but a whole weekend???

AS a newlywed, it's inconceivable to me right now....maybe 10 years from now I can think of an all girls cruise.....
