Brides and Newlyweds who did not take the cake provided by the hall
If you are ordering/ordered a cake from an outside bakery although your hall includes/ included a cake you are not buying, does the hall give you any credit? If so, how much of a credit?

I don't think they would give me a credit but I will try to ask them to put something in for me like an dessert or something.

Anyone else? The cake I want is pretty elaborate and I know it would be an 'upgrade' at any hall. I'm just curious if I would get a price reduction or a credit of some sort
I've already contacted a sugar artist that can make the cake for me for about $600.

We tried to get a credit, but they wouldn't budge. They did add in a few more stations at the cocktail hour to make up for it.

Our BM said she would throw in extra cocktail hour food. We are going to try to get something else though. I don't have a clue what a wedding cake costs, does anyone?

Re: Brides and Newlyweds who did not take the cake provided by the hall
Ours was not provided by the hall. I did meet with some halls that did and no, they would not have given us a credit. They all said they would throw something extra in.I got prices from $6 to $10 per person. We got a great deal from a friend of a friend and paid $4.50. She also made a sheet cake, kept in the kitchen, which saved a lot of $$$.
