Re: Do you know of any halls like NRC but cheaper?
Just less than NRC. NRC was something like $110 p/p for a saturday night...It's one wedding at a time, and it has a very sort of simple elgance, very north shore feel to it, mahogany, and a granite ballroom floor....
I love it!

Re: Do you know of any halls like NRC but cheaper?
what about stewart manor CC? not as elegant as nrc, but one wedding at a time, very cabin-in-the-woodsy? and wayyyyy less then $110 a head. i'm partial, but its worth looking into

Can you show me pics of NRC? That way we can get an idea of your style?

I was actually going to look at SMCC next, but we loved NRC...We looked at Riviera, didn't like it..it was way less than NRC, though

Miller Place Inn would fit what you want; however, I believe the pricing is about that of NRC. It's worth a gander though.

Smithtown Landing was just renovated and it has a very pretty, elegant look. It's one wedding at a time and I know it's less than NRC. Check the Lessings website for some photos.

How about Old Field Club in Setauket. Very pretty, North Shore LI feeling to it, right on the water. Not sure if it's much less $$ though, but worth a look.

I booked for a friday night in March and I was quoted a lot cheaper than what you were quoted for NRC. I cant see it being that much more than what I was quoted for a Saturday. Ive never been to NRC so I cant compare the two places, but if they are similar than I guess I would check it out.

My cousin got married there and it is beautiful, but more money I think and I don't think it holds as many people

The second floor of the Sandcastle is mahogany and marble with a skylight above the dance floor....thats my reception room and its so beautiful its the reason we booked it....the lobby and everything else though is gold and marble, not our style, but it was in our price range. It does't hurt to look.

Not true! I was just quoted much less than that for May, June, July of 2006 for a Saturday night1 They say they can accomodate 200 but I would say about 150 if you want to be comfortable. Speak to LuAnn if you are interested she was terrific!
