Real Estate School
I know I posted this before but I wasnt in the mood to search for the post, so I figured I would just ask again...My friend and I are interested in taking the real estate class and the test to become an agent.
What schools or places do you recommend to take the class. Do you have a website or a phone number or any other info on the class that we need to take?
I looked on www.mlsli.com and they have a bunch of classes listed, but I wasnt sure which one you need to take first...
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Real Estate School
I am presently taking the class in Hauppauge at the American Real Estate School. I am doing it for 3 full weekends and there are about 74 people in the class, and this class is an overflow from the Dowling class. It has been overwhelming at times, I am in the process of study for the test we have on Saturday, then after the school test I will take the State test in Hauppauge on Tuesday. We were told to get there at 7:30a.m. for the 9a.m. test b/c SOOOO many people show up for the test. You also need to get a broker to sponsor you. If you plan on doing it part time/weekends, like I am for the time being, it is not as easy b/c you either have to take days off from work to be available to have the house inspected, the termite man, the engineer, etc... then be present for the closing, then the walk thru, (this is what we were told)..and if you can't be there, then you try to have someone there for you, and customary to pay them a % of your commission which you only get from your broker b/c the broker is the only person who can pay you. Any questions, let me know and good luck. My friend and I have been going together which has really helped, but it is from 9a.m. to 5:30 Saturday and Sunday for 3 full weekends, I work in the city so I couldn't do the night class.

Hofstra and many other schools offer this class - check out their continuing education section to find them.

Re: Real Estate School
I took my class through the American Real Estate School. They offered it at the Best Western in Riverhead. I take my refresher courses on line.

Scott
Classroom training. Tues/Thurs nights from 6:00 to 9:000 and then Sats until 1:00 (sometimes
- it can run later, just hope for no snow day makeups). They don't even give you advance notice - you have to stay or be kicked out of the program (I think you can only miss X amount of hours of instruction).
