those of you that had your baby showers-

what are some ideas at your showers that you loved. i have to plan my sisters shower and i want to make it fun and memorable- especially since I will be the godmother?

I had a lot of stuff....a big plastic bottle that was filled with Q-tips and people had to guess the number of Q-tips, the dirty diaper game, guess the kind of baby food game....and of course the classic bingo. I just got an invite to my cousins shower and they wrote on it, 'please bring a wrapped gag gift for the husband, something he will need after the baby is born at the time specified below' I got 4 a.m. I have no idea what they are going to do with those....

For my cousins shower:
The centerpeices were glass bowls with blue jello and little rubber ducks floating around
The invoices I made and there were little dipers that opened up and had the info inside...
THe favors were cookie lollypops that looked like rattles and cds that all the songs said baby in them

has some great favor ideas!! One thing that I was thinking about for a baby shower is I would avoid getting Baby items for your favors...the people receiving them aren't PG so why would they want a rubber ducky or a candle shapped like a booty....JMHO...I plan on doing lotion, bath salts...etc. They can look baby themed, but have something they can actually use.

One thing I loved at my shower is that each guest, as part of their gift, was asked to include a book and sign their name with a little message. It started a little library for the baby, and everytime we read the books to him we will remember who gave us the book.

We played the dirty diaper game. Each guest got a mini diaper lapel pin. When the shower was over, everyone had to open up their diaper and see if there was 'poop' inside. The dirty diaper holders won a prize.

We just had my sisters baby shower a month ago. Our invites were little dresses. The favor were Teddyscents (fragrant teddy bears).
We played a whole bunch of games. I think everyone liked because there wasn't that lull between eating and gifts. It was a surprise so while we waited for her to come, we started the ribbon game where everyone cut a piece of ribbon the size they thought would fit around mom's belly. Then when she came in she went around and the person who came the closest without going over won a prize.
Other games we played were a word scramble, the pin game (where you collect a pin from anyone who says the 'forbidden word' anytime during the party - we chose baby). We played Guess the baby food and the dirty diaper game. During the gift opening we played bingo.

Everyone commented on how much fun the party was. I think the games make it more fun.

DH and I made the father to be a diaper belt which was really cute! We also did the clothes line. It was so much fun!

Thanks Mom loved making them. She was so proud of them! She put this cute little tag around their neck. I thought they were great!
