AS you have been planning has any one vendor really turned you off? (No names)

Just wondering...there were a few for us especially while shopping for reception halls..One sticks out...not going to say which hall but we were considering it until the guy wanted us to book it that day and it was only the second one we had seen!! It was just so rude!!! The guy was such a salesman and that was such a turnoff

Absolutely, the book now or your loss attitude stinks! FI and I actually switched an initial vendor , big vendor, due to the service we received after booking. The 'Well I got your business already so you mean nothing to me' attitude!

Re: AS you have been planning has any one vendor really turned you off? (No names)

OMG, I'm glad you asked this. I've noticed at a few places that I get the 'we are the best' attitude and the 20 minute speech pointing out why in fact they are the best and what the other places do not have and why we would be silly if we booked with anyone else but them. Oh, how many times have I wanted to tell some of these guys off! But, I bite my lip.

Yes I'm with you with this. I also have been to a hall that turned me off. We were also thinking of booking their but the guy did not make me feel comfortable at all. I asked him questions and he ignored that I even asked him. He didn't even show us the whole place. Bad service.

One band leader started making racist comments and also told me that he 'didn't like foreigners.' Mind you, my parents are from Russia and I mentioned it which shut him up promptly. Needless to say we didn't book this band.

Re: AS you have been planning has any one vendor really turned you off? (No names)

i dont get how badly some vendors treat some potential clients. we saw 3 photogtaphers in one day and one pretty muchleft us alone for 20 minutes. the second down talked to vendors we were going to see and the third...well, we booked the third, lets leave it at that.

i hate the way they make you feel when you ask questions. its like, hello, this is the first weddings i've ever planned for myself, how am i supposted to know what questions to ask

Re: AS you have been planning has any one vendor really turned you off? (No names)

I dealt with a lot of crap but the worst had to have been a BM who thought we were complete idiots and expected us to sit on the outrageous price he gave us (mind you I know what they charge at this place)

Then another BM didn't know her a$$ from her elbow. She kept referring to tossed salad as 'Toasted Salad' and made a million other mistakes when reading over the menu. I had to correct her quite a few times. Needless to say I would not trust this woman coordinating my wedding!

You should have seen me and FH! We were turning red in there trying to keep our composure. As soon as we got in the car we were laughing hysterically! We still laugh about it all the time!

I had a bad experience with a photographer. He kept saying, 'What do you think? Isn't our work amazing? There's no one better!' We were so turned off by him and we knew we weren't booking him.

Re: AS you have been planning has any one vendor really turned you off? (No names)

I've heard great things about one photographer so we went there to check them out. The saleslady was so rude to us...she asked us if we planned on seeing each other before the ceremony...we said no...she replied really snotty 'well why would you do that? do you realize you're going to miss your cocktail hour?' hello if you're trying to sell us something don't try to make us feel bad/stupid about a decision we made. Needless to say we didn't go with them.

Yes, I had one BM at a hall try to convince me and FH was we 100% should take pics with each other before the ceremony even after I told him 'no'. Sheesh! Don't they get it that in order for us to book with them we need to feel comfortable with them and forcing things on us will not get us to book?

Re: AS you have been planning has any one vendor really turned you off? (No names)

We were turned off when we went to one photographer who we met at a Bridal SHow...all of their literature said that they were moving in FEb....we go all the way to the new address and they didn't move yet

ETS..Oh and we were kept waiting when we got there AND we were never shown an example of the video and we said that we would want video too...this photographer was so impressed with themselves BUT WE WERE NOT IMPRESSED WITH THEM

Re: AS you have been planning has any one vendor really turned you off? (No names)

I've been turned off by the service of many people - several reception halls and bridal salons - I can't believe these people are still in business !!!

My policy is I don't reward bad behavior and i have no problem telling them they lost my business b/c of their attitude or things they've said.

we havent even started the search for photographers/bands/ etc.
