if i hear 'AT LAST' at one more wedding, i am going to scream.

ok, please ladies i know someone has to agree with me on this on. i have been to 4 weddings this year and ALL of them had 'AT LAST' as their wedding song. ok, yes i think we can all agree that it is a very beautiful song. but isnt it becoming a littel over played! it is becoming an on going joke with me and fh. every wedding we go to now we just look at eachother to see if that is going to be the couples wedding song, and if it is we just start hysterical laughing. i think too many couples are picking the song just because they feel it is a nice, safe, typical 'wedding song' that everyone wants to hear. personally me and fh are picking a song probably no one will want to hear or even know what it is, but thats the whole point. our wedding song is extremly special to US. not all the guests coming. so i beg of you girls pick a song near and dear to your heart and not the 'it' wedding song of the year. sorry had to get that off my chest. help, anyone agree with me???

I agree it is a beautiful song. I too WAS going to use it, but since I got engaged a year ago I have since changed my mind because it is overplayed.

used it, and still love it. believe it or not, mine was the first one i've ever been to that had it played. shania twain seemed to dominate my friends!

I worked at a catering hall in the 90's and all I ever heard was Shania Twain over and over and over. And if I ever hear 'last dance' or the 'macerena' again I am going to scream!!! haha.

I really like the song at last though. Such a sweet song.

I think it's a beautiful, classic song although we are not using it. I have not heard it at too many weddings but it is used in almost every romantic movie (love scenes and romantic moments).

I agree that it is played a lot more lately though. I just heard it last night in a CAT FOOD commercial!!!!

I have only heard it at one wedding in my whole life & I have been to many!! So to me, it's not overplayed. We picked it because it was special to us though, not because it's safe. IMHO, it's just a beautiful song.

I picked it as my wedding song when we first got engaged, and although it's become incredibly popular, we're keeping it.

I disagree - just b/c it's a popular song DOES NOT mean people pick it b/c it's 'safe' -
Some people don't have 'a song' I know FH and I don't, so we're having a hard time choosing a wedding song......We both want something classic and romantic. - I think that may be the reason many couples choose At Last........ -
Besides, I don't really care if my guests are tired of my wedding song, that is the one and only dance of the night that is JUST about me and FH.........so i'll dance to the Electric Slide if I feel like it !!

I personally don't like the song....but I can' really say anything becuase I pick a very popular wedding song also

I agree...it's a beautiful song, but if it's on a cat food commercial...it's had too much exposure! I pray our song isn't too popular by the time I get married! As soon as I heard it I knew it was going to be our song... Then, just a couple of weeks ago it was on Oprah...ahhhhh.... I prayed no one watched that day!

that's soo funny...the other night the commercial started playing and I was like 'awwww, our song' and then the kibble started falling...i was like 'what the !#%!' DH and I were hysterical......how romantic ..cat food!!

I love that song and always wanted to use it and in fact chose to use it, but it is so over used it has kind of lost its meaning. We are definitely playing it though. After 7 long years, 'At Last' we are getting married. It even works for us, but it is too commercial now.

I've never been to a wedding where they even played 'At Last'.

I do feel this way about Shania Twain though. Everytime I go to a wedding and the song starts up, I just thing 'oh god, not again!'

I am not into this as a wedding choice either....I have heard it one too many times!
