ANyone else feel like they are planning a wedding for FH and his side?
His side is inviting 62 MORE people than my side - I just feel like my mom is paying and planning for a wedding for THEIR benefit. HIs mother invited sooooo many people which means my parents can't invite all their friends. Worst off - my FH doesn't understand why i'm upset about this. Shouldn't he of said something to his mom when she told us her list? He needs to protect me better.

Wow. This is your third post today on this topic. I know planning can get overwhelming, but these kinds of coflicts are normal, and part of planning a wedding is learning how to work through them with your FH and his family. This is just the beginning...the way he and his family act is not going to change. Use this opportunity to communicate with everyone in an adult manner. If he is still unwilling to hear your side of things, as you mentioned in another post, I think you should consider going to talk to someone with him.I'm sure everything will work out. Good Luck!

Just wanted to add one thing/question....although I think the response you received was right on...Why does his mother inviting a lot of people preclude your mom from inviting who she wants. Especially if she's paying, she should most definitely have people who are important to her.
If it's a financial issue, how would your FMIL feel about chipping in for some of her guests? Would you feel like you could ask this of her or of your fh? You guys (you and fh)definitely need to be a united front.
good luck.

Re: ANyone else feel like they are planning a wedding for FH and his side?
i'm sorry you are having such a hard time with this.since your mother is hosting the wedding, she can give your fmil a limit as to how many guests she may invite. your fmil should just have to cut down her list! if not, she should have to put out the $$ for the extra guests.
