NWR....mini vent regarding weight loss
I've been going to the gym between 3-4 days a week. I've lost about 19 pounds. I see I have a waist now
People at work notice the weight loss also. I don't mind tell people how much I lost. But why do they need to know how much more I want to lose? Is it me or shouldn't that question been ask. So they wouldn't ask the question again, I said I have a lot more to go. Its far from over.

Re: NWR....mini vent regarding weight loss
I personally would not have gotten upset about it, but I guess that is because I look at it as people caring. Whereas you may think of it as people being nosey or may just be sensitive about it. Some people may just think they have something to offer you. While you may not like people asking you, if they do just keep telling yourself that they just care and are not trying to be rude. It may make you feel alot better. And CONGRATS

Re: NWR....mini vent regarding weight loss
SOunds like it's you..Weight loss is always been an amazing thing... It takes hard work and dedication to lose it.. SO when I see someone that is on that mission, it sparks my interest and I ask those same questions.. Not to be rude but as a great thing, and let them know that I admire them...

Re: NWR....mini vent regarding weight loss
COngrats, 19 lbs is GREAT!Personally I don't like to be asked that question either. Some people may ask because they are generally interested in my progress and how I am doing, ut I feel its a personal thing. It makes me want to ask them how much weight THEY want to lose.
Maybe you and I are just sensitive that way!

Congrats Gail! I think everyone asks it. Honestly I usually don't unless it's a good friend.

Re: NWR....mini vent regarding weight loss
19 lbs. is excellent! Congratulations!I think people are just mildly curious, and not trying to insult you at all. Once someone starts dieting, the assumption is that they'll keep going.
Enjoy your accomplishment, and ignore any other comments you don't like!

Re: NWR....mini vent regarding weight loss
Maybe they think you look so wonderful that you're CRAZY to lose much more!
You're doing awesome! I don't think they should ask, but they must have their reasons. You could just say that you want to lose enough to be healthy instead of a number.

Re: NWR....mini vent regarding weight loss
I totally understand why you would be annoyed! That kind of comments diminishes the work you have already done!! And it's so rude for people to suggest that you need to lose more! That being said - 19lbs is GREAT!!!! I wish I could lose that much. I am so unmotivated these days!!

Re: NWR....mini vent regarding weight loss
Congrats on the weight loss Gail! That is awesome.I know people are annoying. One of my friends had weight loss surgery and when we go somewhere and she sees someone she knows that is one of the first questions they ask. Then when she tells them 'Oh 25 more pounds' they get all dramtic and say she is waisting away.
Keep up the good work!

Re: NWR....mini vent regarding weight loss
I don't think people mean it the way it sounds. But I'm sure that can get annoying after awhile. I think 19 pounds is an amazing accomplishment though! I would be happy losing 1 pound at this point
! Congratulations on your success.
