QOTD: Do you or did you ever play a musical instrument?

I used to play clarinet in 9th grade.....

Violin 4th-6th grade

I started with the recorder in grade school.

The graduated to the clarinet sometime also in grade school.

Upgraded to the base clarinet in Junior High.

Learned to play the base saxaphone in Junior High.

Upgraded again to the contrabase clarinet in High school.

Upgraded to the base saxaphone also in High School.

I was in the highest bands in Junior and Senior High school, as well as jaz band and (forced to) marching band in High school.

Did aanyone else do to NYSMA?! I still have all of my ribbons and pins - man was I a band geek!

I went to NYSMA! LOL. I played the clarinet from grade school through junior high. I quit once I got to high school since I didn't have time, I was also a gymnast and dancer. Our hs marching band was really good they won a lot of awards.

NYSMA...

those were the days..
i was great at my instrument (baritone)
but when it came down to solos...i always blew it... nysma i would always do good till the end and the judges always told me you off the record you missed it at the end.

and then my solo in the winter discrict concert.. i blew it again. boy, did i hear it after that. play it any other day..i was great though

I remember playing clarinet in 9th grade and thought the drums were more fun...so I swtiched, only the teacher made me do the xylaphone FIRST, since the only drum set was occupied, and then he ignored the percussionists...so I got bored and switched BACK to clarinet...only now I was last clarinet...I went from 1st to last! I wanted to go to NYSMA!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT A ONE! Maybe that's why I'm a band geek fh (he played/plays the tuba)

I played the trumpet in HS. I was the only girl! I loved it.

I played the Clarinet and HATED IT!!!
Then I took up the SAx because I liked a boy who played it. That lasted 2 days,

I left the band all together then in the 9th grade.

AND NEVER WENT BACK

No instrument - I enjoyed the singing. I belonged to the chorus all through jr. high and high school. I also sang for four years in my church's choir.

The recorder! Who didn't?! I also liked learning the piano, but I taught myself mostely.

Do two lessons qualify? I begged for a guitar and only learned to play two chords - two Saturday morning lessons. LOL

I did play piano for a little while but ended up in the chorus instead.

Recorder - elelemtary
Clarinet - elemetary
Flute - elementary
French Horn - elementary & jr. high
Drums - high school

I took piano lessons from when I was 7 unitl I got into High School

I did NYSMA and SCAMEA!! I was a major band dork..

I started with recorder and xylophone in second grade. Third grade I started Clarinet. 7th grade I started Oboe. And by the time I got to High School I was playing Alto Sax for marching band, Clarinet for Wind Enssemble, and Oboe for Concert Band. Every once in a while I'd have to play the flute or picolo.

I love music - I have had professional voice lessons for years, but really want to learn the guitar!

recorder - 3rd grade

flute - 4th and 5th grade

my voice - 6th through present

i've been singing since middle school, and have played the piano since i was 6.
