Re: Please proof invite
It looks great, I would do two thousand and five in all lower caps though and 'o'clock' is used to specify the hour on the hour...so twelve o'clock, one o'clock, two o'clock, etc...half past three would be 'half past three in the afternoon'.

It sounds nice except dont get upset, but... the way the invite is written, the words 'OUR' and 'WE' dont fit in IMO.
I think its supposed to read
of the beginning of 'THEIR' new life together
when 'THEY' exchange marriage vows Friday, the nineteenth of August. Sorry dont be mad. Just that the invite is written as a third party and Our and We do not sound right.

No this is helpful keep them coming. I'm going to keep it at half past three o'clock bc I looked this up and it is grammatically correct.

Sweetie, it is not...there are many sites that have this info, this is just one I found on a quick search...o'clock stands for 'on the hour'...not any variation of it.

Re: Please proof invite
To put special emphasis or exactness on the time, use the number, as in 4 o'clock. To be a bit more formal about things, though, write out the number, as in four o'clock. If you need to include hours and minutes with o'clock, write it as half past four o'clock or half after four o'clock (but not four-thirty o'clock). This is what I found plus this is how my brother did it for his wedding and I know my SIL would have made sure bc she is very into details.

I like it, except the the line that says 'of the beginning of our new life together' reads a little funny to me... I think 'as we begin our new life together' might sound better IMO.

I agree that was the first thing to stand out to me, of the beginning of, just doesn't read smoothly.
I assume you like the invitation being in the first person which of course makes it more complicated (vs. the third person i.e. invite you to their wedding etc)
We invite you to be with us
as we begin our new life together
on Sunday, the sixth of June
nineteen hundred and ninety-nine
at one o'clock in the afternoon
here is an example from this website which has a ton of invite wording ideas:

Re: Please proof invite
PPS ur going to hate me lolI would put Son of Ann and the late Thomas Smith instead of Ann Smith and the late Thomas Smith b/c people might think that either they were divorced when he died or that she got remarried and kept her name- unless that is the case.
I double checked this and it is how they do it in the obits (depressing as that is)
