Sex Offender Registry Info
Did anyone see the News12 "At Issue" the other night about sex offender registry? I heard that PMSD is no longer sending out the notifications about offenders being in the community, rather you will have to enroll via Megan's Law website to obtain emailed info. Was anyone else aware of this? What did you think of the program? Can Patricia Eddington be any less effective as a legislator?

I just got one from my son's daycare. I have always gotten them. My dd goes to Sachem and we don't really get any either.

I didn't think it was a school district's responsibilty to send it out to the general public that I thought that was a township issue. As a teacher I know we get them in our mailboxes so we know what scum bags to look out for but the ones that we have gotten at home, I didn't think came from the school district, but I could be wrong.

I understood it as you can sign up if you wish to receive them vie email. I actually get a picture of the person that I must keep in my files at all times in school. If you ever want info, call your elementary school. You are allowed to see a picture of the person. I have to disagree about Patricia Eddington. She is a good friend, and I feel an excellent legislator. She just got PMSD 1 Million dollars in school state aide, in addition to the what we will be getting from Pataki.

When I was in High School we used to get them. The pig lived maybe 10 houses away from the shcool. It came from the school with a picture on it and his full name. Well The high school kids use to ride by his house and harrass the heck out of his mother and him so they moved. We always got the papers though from school. I thought it was good. Except what if the kids don't give them to you.. .

I get them for our school district, I now live in Middle Country but I never got them in Lindenhurst and I know for a fact there was a registered sex offender staying just blocks away from my parents at one point (I found out after he got arrested again!)
