COOKWARE QUESTION.. Whats the difference between

Stainless steel cookware and non stick cookware? I am going to register today and I had picked out stainless steel pots and pans but now I am wondering if I should get the non-stick. If I do go with stainless steel, then I am going to have to get non stick frying pans anyways so should I just go with the non stick??? Whats the difference?

Non stick is good for frying pans and skillits. It is nice for pots so that the macoroni and stuff doesn't stick but not needed. I got stainless steel pots and an extra non stick skillit and frying pan.

Re: COOKWARE QUESTION.. Whats the difference between

The non-stick will wear off, and you're limited in the utensils you can use to cook with them. For ex., you cannot use metal tongs or anything metal on a non-stick tephlon type surface.

Also, if a pot is all metal (including the handle) you can use it on the stove and in the oven. If there is a non-stick tephlon surface on the pot, or the handle is made of something other than metal, you cannot use it in the oven.

A lot depends on your level of cooking, what you're using them for, and how long you want them to last.
