question about registering for pots and pans...

I'm confused about all the different types of pots and pans. I have begun to register but i skipped the pots and pans b/c i was clueless! Can anyone explain the differences and possible make some suggestions? Thank you.

I actually got analon, and I love them.

Anolon Advanced Cookware - 10 piece set- at macys. They cook everything evenly, and I LOVE that you have the option to machine wash. Some of them are hand wash only!

I registered for Anolon Titatanium because they were the best quality cookware which also were dishwasher safe which to me was key.

If I remember correctly, on the Williams and Sonoma website, they have a link to a section where they explain the differences between stainless steel, non stick, etc. We registered for an All-Clad stainless steel set. Can't wait to use them!
