Tipping day of wedding coordinator??

I'm thinkin of hiring a day of wedding coordinator. She's charging $300 do I tip her on top of that?

IMO- if they are working for themselves they dont need a tip- they are eating a great dinner...MAYBE a small token thank you gift if you developed some sort of bond- i dont know- better advice will come i am sure

I would only tip if they go above and beyond. Otherwise maybe one of your favors or another small gift as a token of appreciation.

Can you FM the Coordinator who is charging $300. That is a steal. My sister is looking for one right now.

I've read that coordinators dont usually expect a tip, but if mine goes above and beyond what I expect I may tip her, but will definately be sending her a thankyou after the wedding. I hired Rosalie from Expressions (Vendor) if anyone is looking for a DOC, shes awesome!

And about tipping, I strongly believe that tipping is done anytime someone goes above and beyond and gives excellent service, it's a small 'thank you' that they can use (cash, who can't use that?! ) so if she's totally great I would tip. If she's there but you feel like you could have done without her, then no. And this is my rule for all vendors...I think tipping gets out of hand and they forget that a tip is 'extra' instead a lot of them expect it.

My DOC and I discussed it and she told me not to tip her. Her rate is fairly high, though.

I think this is something you can decide the day of. If she does a great job, I would tip. I think thats true of just about any other personal service when people are 'waiting' on me. Good service warrants a tip from me. But everyone is different.

We have been wrestling with this all week- especially last night since I was finalizing all my tip amounts-- I posted like at least 5 times on here as to what to do and never really got a firm answer.

I thought an AWESOME gift would be to give her a blackberry-- FH was able to get one through his company at a discounted rate so we ordered one today. From being one of her brides-- I know how busy she is- and I think it would be really helpful for her business- so the same amount we would have tipped her- she gets a gift that has thought behind it- I think she'll love it.

I tipped mine, but that was because she was SUPER cheap and did a great job. It may be the same person you're thinking of.
