Garter and Bouquet Toss
hi ladies!quick question: i don't have many single ladies and guys coming to the wedding .. all are married or engaged, especially on my FH's side since he is a few years older than me.
Should I still do the toss? I asked my FH and he's like 'yea, we have to!' (I think he just wants to see his 12 year old go up someone's skirt!!!)
What's appropriate? I don't want to embarass the few women who will be marked as single!

We have the same situation. I think only 2 of our guests are single. We're definitely not doing the toss or garter.

Re: Garter and Bouquet Toss
we are definitely doing the garter/bo-k toss and the people who catch them will get a dance with the bride/groom.I didn't want to single out the 3 single guests at our wedding, so this way, everyone is included :)

Same here. It's when you invite all the married couples up to the floor and as the song goes on, the DJ asks people who have been married less than 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, etc...to sit down until the couple that is married the longest remains...that is who you give bouquet (or sometimes also garter to).

Re: Garter and Bouquet Toss
i don't have many single women come either, nor men for that matter!
But, still doing it!I really wanted to, I don't know why.
I told my Band memeber, that I no one may come up, he said in that case, we'll just hand it over :)
Oh.. well!

Re: Garter and Bouquet Toss
we're doing the bo-k toss, but not the garter. I'm wearing a garter, but I find the hole garter toss thing to be--well, I won't insult anyone, it's just not my thing.

that sounds good. I also don't want to throw my garter b/c I'm wearing a Yankee garter (once I find it, saw someone on here posted hers, I LOVE it) but I don't want to throw it away to someone! BUT, I might have to strike a deal w/ my FH!Thanks for the ideas!!

get a cheap inexpensive garter to throw. I am definitely not throwing my 'real' garter.

Yay! I'm glad I could help :) I really wanted to do it too, but I didn't know what I could do that wouldn't be corny (cheesy) and when I read about this on theknot.com, I thought...oh yeah, this is perfect!!!

Re: Garter and Bouquet Toss
We're skipping both. Most of my friends who have been married recently didn't do either also. It's up to the two of you though.I'm not doing it because I hated this part of weddings when I was single and made it my business to disappear at that point of the night. At any rate that's my opinion though, you guys should do whatever makes you happy.

Mmm, interesting. I never knew that. I might do that. I'm not doing the toss/garter thing either. I didn't want to 'single' out my single friends, which might only be 1!

Re: Garter and Bouquet Toss
Definitely not doing the garter toss. I finally won that fight. Will probably do the Bo-K toss, although I do like the idea of the anniversary dance instead. Thanks for the tip.
