Re: How many of you have second guessed your dress at one time or another?

Not yet ...but I have second guessed my hair and veil! That's why I am getting a new veil and a second hair trial. But those aren't as expensive as a new gown. I believe I chose my dress for a reason..because after trying on many I knew it was the one.

I absolutely love your dress and I think it's perfect for you. What is it that you don't like?

well I always wanted strapless and simple Look what I fell in love with.. I kinda think its just a little too busy for me. Believe me after spending what I spent I will never buy anything else Im getting my hair and makeup trial done today. I hope I like it. I couldnt find a headpiece that I liked so I just picked one.

Re: How many of you have second guessed your dress at one time or another?

you look BEAUTIFUL in your dress!

I have 2nd guessed mine too - really I just wanted the most UN-bridelike dress imagineable - just straight and simple and non-traditional... but i guess people talked me into being more bridey so I got a more bridey dress that is more A-line than straight - it actually fits my body really well, so everytime I doubt it and feel like I should've gotten an anti-bride dress, I just go try it on and I really do love how it looks so then I feel better. I also got one with a champagne sash to make me feel less traditional...

Anyway, I have certainly 2nd guessed it from time to time and lots of my bride friends have done that too!

See, you picked it because you fell in love with it! It's like with anything we fall in love with...we get used to it, wonder what else is out there..but always come back to the one we love (LOL)

I wouldn't say it's busy, it's very embellished (princessy) so you only need simple accessories. Trust me I believe you picked it for a reason. And of course you don't have to choose simple accessories because I said so..you can do whatever you want because it is your special day. Good Luck!

Re: How many of you have second guessed your dress at one time or another?

I have recently felt the same about my dress. I always wanted soemthing very traditonal and simple... all satin with not much on it.

Then I ended up with a Reem Acra gown in ivory with a deeper shade of ivory on the side insets... the train was not round, kind of a scallop shape...

It is beautiful-- I know it is, but It's just a little different... Now I am worried about it..

I am going to go see it again... I haven't seen it in a while and don't have any pics of me in it, just of another girl in it and I honestly dont like the way she looks in it- I htink bc she it too skinny.. I am a little more curvy and I think the top of the gown flatters me much more differntly bc of it..

So.. go see it again- I know how u feel.

Re: How many of you have second guessed your dress at one time or another?

Think about your wedding day - are you going to be thinking 'gee - maybe I should have gotten that dress that had a little less lace...'

NO WAY!!! You are going to be thinking 'I am a star! I look beautiful! Everyone looks at me and thinks WOW!'

You will still love it.

And yes - I totally second guessed.

Re: How many of you have second guessed your dress at one time or another?

I posted about this a few weeks ago. When my dress came in, I went to try it on and thought 'OMG - I can't wear that!'

I felt like my taste had changed over the past 7 months and I wanted a slinky sheath dress and not a poofy a-line dress.

After much panicking and stressing, I called the bridal salon to see what I could do. They told me to come in again and see.

I went in and they were so nice and helped me try on some sheath dresses that I really did like a lot, but then after them, I put my dress back on, and almost started crying b/c in comparison to the others, it was so perfect.

I really think it is just the stress of all of the planning and the pressure of making all of these decisions that made me second guess myself. We want to make sure everyhting is 'just right', but the truth is, it will be b/c of our FH standing at the end of the aisle.

As one of the brides told me - you chose your dress for a reason. You look absolutely beautiful in it and you would not have picked it if it wasn't right.

It really is a gorgeous dress and has a lot of 'wow' to it that will make your entrance awesome!!! I really hope to fall in love with it again!!!!

Re: How many of you have second guessed your dress at one time or another?

I second guessed my dress after I saw it on this woman in Bridal Guide mag. It was a feature on this British country wedding and apparently my dress is very popular in the UK (where the designer is based). The dress looked very blah on the bride and I though, 'ack, is that what I'm wearing?!' I also thought I'd get something plain and sheath-y. But I just try to remember how I felt when I put it on.

Re: How many of you have second guessed your dress at one time or another?

I ordered my dress a little over 2 years before my wedding and everyone said I was crazy....but never once (and never since) did I second guess my choice. I fell in love with my dress when I put it on and just knew it was right. I absolutely think if you're just OK with a dress when you order it - you shouldn't...keep looking!

Re: How many of you have second guessed your dress at one time or another?

I'm a two dress bride, so that's a yes on second guessing! I'm so much happier with my second dress but I was able to return my first, so I lost no money and my second dress was less money than my first. It worked well for me. I don't know if I'd feel different if it wasn't a smooth transaction.

Re: How many of you have second guessed your dress at one time or another?

I had a pretty easy time finding a dress and didnt think i'd second guess it at all - but then I went to RK Bridal to buy a slip and I tried the dress on again and of course, I hated it. I'm consoling myself by saying that the lighting was bad, my hair looked awful, I didnt have the right bra on, and there was no one to help me cinch up the back of the dress (the sample was too big). So for about 10 minutes (ok, maybe 30) I was freaking out - but then I figured that I picked it for a reason and it will be fine.
