Do most people have their bridal party....
pay for their dresses and tuxes. It's really just not in our budget. We are already at $54K including eparty and Rehearsal dinner, but not including honeymoon!As long as I pick something inexpensive, can I ask the girls to pay for their dresses? I have 8 bridesmaids (including MOH) and 7 groomsmen (including BM) oh and I have 4 kids in the wedding. Paying for them would be over the top!

I'm not paying for my BM's dresses either. I wish I could but it's just me and FI paying for this wedding. I'm trying to pick dresses in the 125-150 range.

The only dress I am paying for in the BM is the FG...That was my choice...I think typically nowadays the BP pays for their own things

me and the FH are paying as well. I can't believe I'm spending this much, but with an invite list of 280 (hopefully 220 coming) the reception is eating my budget away!

We're going to have them pay for their own dresses and tuxes. I think that's why you ASK so nicely and all, bc it is a really big expense for them too. I wish we could pay for them but it's just not possible.

same here. we are paying for everything ourselves, but I will keep the dress price in the same range.
I think thats how it always went. please correct me if i'm wrong, but I always thought the BM's paid for their dresses.

I thought so too, but then I saw girls posting that they bought them for their BP. I got nervous! I've never been to a wedding before, never the less been a part of one!

We are planning on paying for the FG and RB outfits. The BP will pay for their own attire.

My girls are paying for their own dresses. We never discussed the possibility of me paying for the gowns. I had them help me the dresses out, so they knew how much the dresses were before we picked.

my bridal party is paying for their own dresses as well, they just assumed that too, never discussed me paying for them.

I never heard of that - ....I made sure that I picked something that I loved at a good price ...128.00 thats not bad at all ...If they wanted me to buy there dresses that would be there gift

My girls are paying for their dresses. As well, the guys are paying for their tuxes. The only things I may spring for are the flower girl dress and ring bearer tux.

I am having my bridal party pay for the dresses. I will probably get them the jewelry though. Most of the time the bridesmaids do pay for it.

I am not paying for my BP's dresses. I am also not picking dresses that will break their banks. I should also mention that the ladies in my BP are established women who have the means by which to pay for their own dresses. The only ones who can't afford their own dresses are my brother's daughters - they are teenagers. I guess I am glad my brother can provide for them.

I'm gonna look for a reasonably priced dress for the BP hopefully between $150-$175..I'm not looking for the BP to spend a crazy amount of $$ on dresses they are never gonna get use out of again

I've been a bridesmaid 4 times and I've always paid for my dress. I expected to.For those that paid for the BM dresses - are/did you ask for the dress back after the wedding since it is yours?

Mine are all paying for their dresses/tuxes.I think its understood when you agree to be in the wedding party. I am going to try and keep the total $$$ resonable though.
