MY BEST FRIEND THE (BRIDE) BECAME A MONSTER!!!!! DRESS ISSUE

ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND ARE GETTING MARRIED THE SAME YEAR 2006- SHES GETTING MARRIED FIRST IN MAY; IM IN OCTOBER, QUESTION: SHE HAD PICKED OUT DRESSES FOR US AND THE PRICE IS VERY HIGH $$$, SHE DOES NOT WANT TO GO AND LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE; I KEEP HEARING THIS IS HER WEDDING THATS IT. I HAVE BEEN IN A FEW WEDDINGS AND THATS HOW FRIENDSHIPS FALL AND YOU FIGHT, BUT DO YOU THINK IM RIGHT IN A WAY.
I FEEL WE SHOULD LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE AND FIND THE SAME DRESS OR EVEN A DIFFERENT DRESS THAT IS CHEAPER....SEE TRICK IS; SHES NOT PAYING FOR YOUR WEDDING, MY FH AND I ARE PAYING FOR OUR WEDDING AND ITS VERY HARD, I THINK PAYING FOR A DRESS $300 OR $400 IS CRAZY???ANYONE AGREE...... THE SAD PART IS I SHOULD BACK OUT BUT MY FH IS ALSO IN THE WEDDING. THIS WAS MY #1 REASON WHY IAM NOT HAVING ANY OF MY FRIENDS IN THE WEDDING JUST...IT TAKES THE FUN OUT OF THE WEDDING PLANING....PLEASE IM SURE MOST OF YOU HAVE BEEN THERE AND KNOW WHAT IM TAKING ABOUT...

I think asking people to pay $300 or $400 for a dress is a little much. One of my good friends from college is getting married in April (I'm in July). I'm a bm and was relieved when she told us all that she was looking at dresses $150 and less. All of the bms are young, either a couple of years out of college, or in grad school, so none of us have the extra money to spend on a pricey dress. Can you express your concern to her individually? Tell her you would love to be there for her on her day, but that the dress is just a little too much for you, especially since you're saving for your own wedding. Do any of the other bm share your concern about the price? Maybe if all of you approach her, one on one, so she doesn't feel attacked, she'll realize how much she's asking of you girls and change her mind.

alot of girls on here have been very happy with the designer dresses they ordered off there... Hope this helps!

HI ALL THE BRIDESMAIDS FEEL THE SAME WAY..2 ARE OUT OF STATE AND 1 JUST LOST HER JOB AND THE OTHER JUST WENT BACK TO WORK FROM HAVING A BABY....I HATE TO SAY IT BUT SHES A B**CH...BIG TIME...I KNOW WERE GOING THE 15 OF MAY SO WE WILL SEE...

Hell, yeah! $300 is crazy. I'm definitely picking a dress $150 or less for my BM. Its expensive being a BM, so I want to try to make it as easy as possible for them.

That is ridiculous. I would never ask my BM's to pay that much for a dress. She should have some respect and consideration for other people. Yeah its here wedding but a wedding is not suppose to break your bridal party's pockets.

Can you try to find the dress cheaper somewhere else and try to let her know that you found it somewhere less expensive? This way all of the bridal party could order from one place so the dye lot is the same?

You should def shop around and look for the same dress at discounted prices!! There's no way I could ever ask my girls to pay that kind of $$ for their dresses. I'd rather them be happy with some less expensive than broke and unhappy with me!

you should shop around I am sorry I think $300 to $400 is way to much the most I have ever spent on a bm dress was $200 and I have been in quite a few weddings. I would try to explain that the price for that dress is too much for you since you are paying for your own wedding and try to find it someplace else or I would take it upon myself to look at other places to see if I can find itcheaper and if I did I would mention it to her and if she still gives you a hard time I would tell her that I can't afford that price so I would liek to order my dress from the cheaper place. If she can't deal with it I would back out andask FH to back out as well

My girls are paying $250 for their dresses and I think that's a lot, but they all love the dress so I won't argue. I sudjested that we look at other dresses but they all like the way they look in it. They don't have a problem with it so we're going to go with them....here is a picture. Sorry so big

Call Phyllis at www.gownfind.com and myabe she can get the dresses cheaper for you. If you know the style number and the designer, call without telling your friend and then if the price is lower then tell her that you found it for less at a reputable place!

No reason to spend that much!
