My daughter had a SEVERE milk allergy that was diagnosed at 1 week of age. We saw a world renown allergist in Manhattan who took her off all dairy until 18 months, she has now outgrown it. I spoke with him today and he said since my daughter had an allergy I need to stop all dairy, peanuts, and eggs in my last trimester to help deter an allergy for my new baby. He said it is very helpful at this point and can make a world of difference.
Also, he said no dairy for the first 3 months while breastfeeding. Looks like Soy milk and tofu for me!!!! I hope this helpful for some of you preggos, a newborn with an allergy is scary and there is a possiblity that you can reverse it with some modifications to your diet while still pregnant.
