Has anyone bought a 'scary' house?

or had it be owned by 'scary'people? i had the most bizarre dream last night that we were looking at a house and went inside and i got the scariest vibes and rushed myself and dh out of there b/c the owner seemed like he was out of a horror movie. i know it is just a dream, but has anyone felt vibes from the prior owners?

Semi-related story....we looked at a fantastic house in a fantastic neighborhood, that was a fixer-upper. It was a very nice 3 BR ranch with a HUGE piece of property. The absolute second I walked through the door I got an *icky* feeling, and told DH that I would not live there. He was amd b/c the house was HUGE & had a ton of potential. Well, we found out later on that week that the owner died in the house only 2 weeks before

Re: Has anyone bought a 'scary' house?

Oh we definitely bought a scary house! The previous ower I *believe* died in the hospital-- but she was very sick in the house for many years. Before we renovated it, it was so incredibly creepy! The house was stuck in 1960. There was NO light coming into the house since there were 2 windows boarded up, overhangs over all the other windows, dark shades & blinds... and every room in the house had all dark wood paneling. It was awful.

Thanks goodness we took all that creepiness away! My house is so bright and beautiful now, and I honestly never think about how creepy it used to be.

We actually went to look at a house once. The last owner was an elderly man. The house LITERALLY smelled like death
