Property Taxes - Mulitipliers - Full Reassessment etc...
Now I'm totally confused. A house we lost 3 weeks ago is now available!!!
So we have two offers actually pending - both accepted...both houses are in excellent areas/ school districts.
The one house we really love we're getting an engineer in there tomorrow.... and if inspection doesn't go well then we are getting a second engineer in shortly thereafter (you have 10days after sales agreement).
Anyway, deathly scared about taxes!
As per my father, in 2004-2005 the house worth was half of what it is now. The multiplier was 1.00%. For the area we are looking in in that year the multiplier was 1.84%.
My fathers house - the multiplier is now 0.25%!!
Therefore his taxes are actually $100 cheaper! (weird)
Now the house we're interested in buying is valued at twice what it was - and my question is -- is the multiplier 1.84% still - at FULL ASSESSMENT the house is worth twice what is was - and then that would bring our taxes to like $12,000 or $13,000 -this projection is ridiculous and there has to be a modification or explanation - lol....this isn't Garden City...
Anyone have any background knowledge about this?
