My 14 month old is sick
This is the 1st time he's really been sick...He has a fever, and a drip in his throat, and a cough. He has been on amoxicillin and a cough med since Monday and Motrin to bring down the fever. My ? is how long until this stuff kicks in. He only takes it 2x a day. the fever comes and goes because I give him the motrin, but keeps returning.
On another note, aside from his milk he won't eat. Sleep has been bad too...Please help. Should I call the DR again in the AM? Am I expecting him to get better too soon. This is my 1st baby so I really could use your advice.
Any tricks to keep him sleeping tonite?
Thx ladies

Re: My 14 month old is sick
This could last anywhere from 5-7 days. It can take a while, and the amoxicillin can take the full dose until the full benefits are visible. Hang in there, I would think by the end of the weekend he'll be back to himself.

Re: My 14 month old is sick
I hope your son feels better don't worry about him not eating as long as he is drinking then he will be fine. My daughter jsut went through this not to long ago and she is 8 months. I called the doctor about her not eating that much and they told me as long as she is drinking then I should n't really worry. Jsut keep giving the motrin and it will take a few days for the amoxicillian to kick inWelcome New Vendors
