Restaurant for a SMALL wedding?

Hi girls,

I am in the process of planning a small intimate wedding for about 30 people (families and close friends), and am currently looking for a restaurant. Since the wedding is going to be so small, a catering hall might not be an option, so I would like to find a restaurant I could close for the party (or maybe a larger restaurant with a room to accomodate my party size). Something with a garden or a deck to hold the ceremony will be ideal.

Thanks in advance for any recommendation you may give

Re: Restaurant for a SMALL wedding?

There's 21 Main in Sayville. It is owned by Lovin' Oven (Land's End & Flowerfields). A friend of mine is having their small wedding there in August. Here's the website if you decide to check it out. Good luck!

Re: Restaurant for a SMALL wedding?

This place looks really beautiful!! I wanted to have my shower there but it was a little far for us.

They are a vendor on this website and the prices seemed reasonable.

Re: Restaurant for a SMALL wedding?

Milleridge Inn (Jericho) or George Washington Inn (Rosyln). The room I am using at Milleridge Inn would be too large (45 minimum), but they did have some smaller rooms.

Also, Carlyle on the Green had a small room. I think the minimum may be higher than you want, but check it out. It's not a restaurant, but it's very nice.

The George Washington has a few smaller rooms. A friend of my mom's used the place for her daughter's smaller wedding (think it was about 35 people).

I was really happy about everything about my experience with the GWM. Feel free to FM if you have questions.

My venue, Louis XVI is perfect for a small wedding, and you can't beat the view there. You can have the ceremony on the outside patio.

Also, Tellers in Islip would be great for a smaller wedding -- I believe it's an old converted bank and the food is delicious there.

Re: Restaurant for a SMALL wedding?

I'm not sure if you'd be up for having your wedding in the city, but if you're interested, there is an Italian restaurant in the Soho/Little Italy area called Va Tutto that is perfect for small, intimate weddings. It has a very homey, Tuscan atmosphere with exposed brick. They have an outdoor garden that I think seats 50, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I had my FH's surprise 30th birthday there and they were great to work with. They had had a wedding in the garden the night before our party. FM me if you'd like any more details.

Good luck!

Most of the guests will be coming from Brooklyn, so something up to 2 hours drive from Brooklyn will do. We will be living in Wantagh by the time of the wedding.

As for the prices.. Well, I am trying to be on the budget. Ideally around $100pp or less

Re: Restaurant for a SMALL wedding?

The Gatsby in East Islip is Beautiful. We are having a party there for my sister. Upstairs they have all different sized rooms. It also doesn't matter what night you have it on. The prices stay the same. They have a beautiful menu. Starting from 44.95 to 69.95 per person. $10 extra a head for drinks. Great place!! You should really check it out. It's very old, but completely renovated. Perfect for a small wedding. I think the biggest room holds up to 60 people. This is probably one of the nicest restaurant on LI!

You can try Cafe on the Green in Bayside, it may be more convenient for your guests in Brooklyn. They have some small rooms.
