9 Year Old Ringbearer
I was thinking about getting him crayons and coloring books for the reception. Is he too old for coloring books? If so, any other ideas?

Re: 9 Year Old Ringbearer
My FI's daughter just turned 8 and she still loves to color. It might be a gender thing tho, I don't know if a 9 y/o boy would still enjoy it. If he has a gameboy (like my 10 y/o cousin) you could get him a game that he could sit and play. But I know they can be expensive!! Hope this helped!!

I already got him an engraved soccer ball bank.. this is just a last minute thing to keep him occupied. I'm clueless when it comes to kids!

You could get him a disposable camera, and personalize the front with his name. I bet he would have fun taking pictures all night, and then can get them developed himself. My little cousin took my camera for my cousin's wedding, and had a blast taking pics. Although, I'm not sure if that is because it was digital. Still might be fun, though.

Re: 9 Year Old Ringbearer
unless you want to buy him something, I would just ask his parents to pack him a bag of some of his favorite toys to give him at the reception. I think initially he may feel a little to 'big' for crayons and coloring, but if you leave them around long enough, he will probably start to color (just get like Power Rangers or Spiderman or the Hulk). That's what I am doing for my kids, and I have a small place sectioned off for them so they can sit and play and not worry about anyone stepping on their toys.

I think he would be too old. I know my nephew is almost 7 and he doesn't want to have anything to do with coloring. My nephew is really into cars so maybe some matchbox cars or something along that line.

What about a trivia book for that age range? Or one of those invisible ink books or Mad-Libs? Look in the toy aisle at Eckerd or CVS

Im sure he has a gameboy. When my brother was that age my parents did go anywhere without packing it for him!!!My brother would play that ting for hours and hours. People didn't even know he was at the wedding
Ask his parents if he already has one.. maybe you can get him a new game for it?? I think just the game itself isnt too expensive.

Re: 9 Year Old Ringbearer
what about getting him a hand held game thing. I've seen them cheap, like $5 in Toys R'Us. Not anything name brand
