Question for Married Brides who saw FI before ceremony

Hey there

I am struggling w/ this topic sooooo much. I really am dead set against seeing Matt before the ceremony but since our ceremony and reception are at the same place, our only options for photos is before ceremony or during CT hr which stinks.

So my question is, what was it lilke to see him before ceremony? Did you loose the whole 'seeing for first time' thing? I know that if i HAVE to see him before, that i want it to be private just me and him, not me getting out of a limo and a park to take pics and everyone, inc him is standing around.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: Question for MArried Brides who saw FI before ceremony

I don't really like the idea for seeing him before the ceremony, but I also would not want to miss the cocktail hour.

I think you have a good idea. If there is no other way but to see him before, then I would make it special with just the two of you.
Maybe meet somewhere nice before you go to take pictures.

Re: Question for MArried Brides who saw FI before ceremony

Are you going to have a bridal suite? Maybe you could have him come to the suite and see you alone right before you take pictures. We might do that.

Oh, by the way, I hope you're okay! I meant to post before, but I had to go to my meeting. It might be the change in season, or even that you pulled a muscle or something. I wouldn't worry. I hope you feel better, and let us know what the doctor says!

We are taking all our pics before the ceremony so that we dont miss the cocktail hour.

I spoke with the photographer....he said that he will have FH stand at the Alter...and I will walk down the isle. There will be no one else there...so it will be a special moment for us to share.

Re: Question for Married Brides who saw FI before ceremony

We did this... we had the cocktail hour first, then ceremony and then reception, all back to back at the same place, so we ended up doing the photos before everything started. It was still really special... the minute we woke up we separated and I spent several hours with my girls getting ready. I had two photographers, one in my room and one in DH's room while we got ready. Then, the photographers arranged for us to 'see' each other for the first time before the photo session started. They had DH wait for me in the library and I walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder... he turned around and OMG, I'll never forget the look on his face!! The photographers caught every moment, and it was every bit as special as seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony. Actually, even better because my nerves calmed significantly because then I could relax with DH and the rest of hte bridal party for the rest of the day while we took photos and such...

I really like this idea!! I, too, am worried about seeing FH before the ceremony, but if we do something like this I'm sure it will be very special.

Our photographer did the same thing. We had a very small gap between our Mass and CH, so we took pics in our local park before the church. It worked out great -- the park was empty and those pictures are AWESOME and 100x better than any pictures we have from the hall-- and FH and I got to spend a bit more time with each other, our families and our BP.

Re: Question for Married Brides who saw FI before ceremony

We saw each other before the ceremony and I didn't regret it at all!

I didn't get out of the limo until DH was faced away from me and I walked up behind him. The whole reaction was caught on film and video. We cried and hugged, cried and hugged. I still tear up thinking about it. Seeing him before took alot of the anxiety away from walking down the aisle and I was able to enjoy that one last time down the aisle I would be Daddy's little girl. After all unless you have sisters, that's your dad's only time he would be able to give his daughter away.

I still cried the whole way down the aisle and through the ceremony. The ceremony was just as emotional.

I say do it, we had our whole cocktail hour to ourselves to enjoy because all the pics were taken already

ETS-If you click on my profile the lower right pic on the page of my album is one of the pics from when we saw each other for the first time.
