Help - Want to do Casual Day shoot but $$$$$$$$

My photographer wants to charge me a LOT of money to do an outside engagement shoot - and no photos are included after the shoot.

We would like to do that whole casual day shoot & are searching for a photographer who may do that for us WIthOUT booking them for the wedding day.

Any suggestions?

Could you just get dressed up nice and go to the park with a nice backround and have a friend take pics? I know a few of my family and friends seem to take pictures just as good as photographers. You might want to just give it a shot first. Maybe buy some B&W film too. If you know how you could then also fix them up on Adobe Photoshop or something. Zoom, crop etc..

Try craigslist.com there are a tun of Photographers on there that can probably do it very inexpensive for you.

If you are interested I have a very good friend who works at one of LI's top photography studios and takes AMAZING pics!!
He works for cash on the side sometimes and is very reasonable $$
I can give you his information if you want.

Yes, I recommend Craigs list. I posted an ad for an amateur photographer/student to take pictures at our wedding for four hours to supplement out photographer. I said that I was willing to pay 100 dollars for the four hours and to have it digitally done so I could just have the cd and print out what i wanted. I received MANY responses. There are many photographers out there that welcome the chance to increase their portfolios
