I'm throwing my mom a surprise party
for her 60th b-day. I was wondering do you think I need favors. to be it is just another thing to do in such a hort period of time and I really have nothing I want to give. I am sick of cady and chocolate and all the little things are really junk. Do you think people will be insulted?

I felt the same way you did. I ended up making up a card and attached a scratch-off to it. It was birthday oriented (Birthday Blowout). I figured maybe someone would win some $$. A couple people won $2, $5 etc better than a candy bowl they'd never use!

I just had a surprise 60th birthday party for my MIL and did cookies for favors. I got them from this site:http://www.veronicastreats.com/
People loved them!

Re: I'm throwing my mom a surprise party
We just went to an 80th b-day party and there were no favors. I don't think anyone missed them, I know we didn't. I was flattered to be invited to an elegant sit down dinner, so I didn't even think about it until I saw this post.

I don't think you need favors. It would be nice but not necessary.

Re: I'm throwing my mom a surprise party
I through my Dad a suprise 60th bday last fall, while not needed, I did give favors. It was a mikasa crystal wine stopper in the shape of a boat (it was a nautical themed party). People really liked them and commented how great it was to get them. I think its nice of you can do it because people dont expect that at a bday party. Good luck and thats so nice of you to do that for your mom :)

Re: I'm throwing my mom a surprise party
My dads family is big poker players. So for his 60th, I gave decks of cards and hershey kisses in a cellophane bag wrapped really nicely with shiny tissue stuff inside. They looked great and were cheap. Unfortunately, never got to hand them out because we had to cancel the party last minute because my stepmothers mom died. But I know my family and they would have loved them!!Welcome New Vendors
