Went dress shopping for the first time!

Went dress shopping for the first time!

I can't believe that I actually enjoyed it! I thought I'd be obsessing about my body and the fit - but I didn't. I was pleasantly surprised at what size gowns I fit in - and I think that made me enjoy the night even more!

I went to Macy's in Manhasset with my mom - - but my sister is coming to LI next weekend, and we're doing 4 salons over the weekend - - so that should be my big push. At Macy's I worked with Barbara, who was patient and wonderful to work with.

Felt so bad for my mom who kept getting teary-eyed

because my grandma (her mom) was a dress designer - and she would have been so helpful and knowledgeable - but she suffers from very progressive Alzheimers.

Anyway - this is my favorite dress so far (although it's definitely stretching my budget beyond what I wanted to spend). And I hate this picture, it doesn't do the dress justice.

That is a beautiful choice so far! I think everyone is in fear prior to going on their 1st dress shopping experience...But once you get past that, it becomes an addiction!!

That's a really pretty dress, I love the wrap around look!! You're right, I hate it when the models pose like that!! Sorry to hear about your grandma, but I'm glad you had a good time and weren't self-conscious. Have fun this weekend!!!
