I can not find a dress for our engagement shoot

Ok, I am really open to suggestions. We have our engagement shoot next week at the beach. I was planning on trying to find a nice simple (and flattering) sundress to wear, but I can not find anything I like. Everything either looks too dressy or has so many ruffles that it is not flattering. Anyone know of any place I can get a sundress that's not too fancy? Or can anyone suggest something to wear as an alternative? I don't want to go crazy, but I want to be happy with these pictures.

Also, for those who have had their pics done already, what, if anything, did you wear on your feet?

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I went to the Old Navy Outlet in Riverhead and they had quite a few sundresses. I bought one for my BBQ Eparty - it's verrrry thin stripes - Baby Blue and white Seersucker, A-line, strapless, and it has a white ribbon belt around the smallest part of my waist. It is SO flattering, and it was under $20 (dresses were 40% off).

I think this would be really pretty for your pics! They sold it in light pink and white too, but the color is very subtle.

I'm going to add a pic later, as soon as I'm home to get it out of my closet and take one!

JCrew has some pretty nice, beach-y sundresses. There's a nice white one that I think would look lovely on the beach. I ended up wearing a cardigan, and also just wore black flip-flops since that's what I usually wear and I wanted to be comfortable. Plus, if you're going to the beach, you don't want to wear shoes that are too nice.

I saw some really cute sun dresses at AnneTaylor Loft and mostof them were on Sale..

I just read the other posts, JCREW and OLD NAVY both have really cute sunflower dresses...

Here is the dress I wore for my eparty, I don't know if you can really see it but it's from Old Navy and I just got it a few weeks ago so they might have it still, it came in all different colors too..its knee length

Was just going to suggest Ann Taylor Loft as well. You can go online and take a look first and if there's anything that catches your eye head to the store. They have some really cute summery dresses right now.

I was just thinking ann taylor loft too! They always have cute dresses! Don't laugh but I was recently in TJ Maxx and they had the cutest summer dresses...the bad part about going there is they are very hit or miss..

I was also at New York & Company & they had a couple of cute dresses. We just did our epics last week & I decided to go with black capris & a light blue button down shirt and then black sandals.

The Loft had really nice dresses...

I tried Mandee, Old Navy, and Anne Taylor and still came up empty (AT had some nice stuff, bu too much money). How about capri's w/ a nice tank top? I have a particular type of dress in mind and can not find it.

It's about knee length...simple white/blue halter or spagetti strap dress. No ruffles, no bows or stings...just plain.

I went to mandee today and found a dress similar, but only in plum...which is just too dark for this time of year. I am so picky . They even had dresses w/ sequines...just not me. Old Navy in Commack had no dresses at all .

The Old Navy OUTLET in Riverhead had dresses VERY similar to what you want. (They have styles from the past several years, not just what the regular old navys have now.)

I also saw quite a bit of dresses at Marshalls in Stony Brook yesterday, several were plain, light-colored, and either spaghetti or halter strapped.

Did you run into Marshall's in Commack? Stony Brook usually has a much better selection.

I think Capris with a tank top would be fine as well. It's what you are comfortable in. Also on the beach you'd be able to be more playful with pants on. I guess something to fall back on if you can't find a dress.
