why is makeup for the bride so much more $$$$$

I've looked at a couple of prices and besides the sticker shock on some, I noticed that the price for the bride is like 2-2.5 times more than everyone else!!! Why is that? My face isn't any bigger, and, yeah, my makeup might be 'fancier', but $150 MORE than everyone else??????

I just don't understand!

I've noticed and couldn't agree more.

hair is the same- 150 for bride and like 60-75 for bridemaids. some charge more for MOH and mother of bride/groom.

they must know something we don't

I have to agree with you. Unless it's airbrush (which I assume requires special equipment) I don't see why it's so much more for the bride than anyone else. And if a trial is $30 - $75 or whatever, why is it more on the day of the wedding Won't it be the same or similar makeup and application time I don't get it.

No matter, my good friend does makeup and she already told me she will do my trials and if I like it she will do my makeup for the wedding - complete with 'lashes' that I am not sure I even need or want

Check out Okasana. She does not charge the bride more and her prices are really reasonable.

i cant believe it either. its such a rip!!! i know a lady who shops where i work and shes from t carltons in st james and she priced me at $ 100 just for my hair and makeup trial. thats a trial!!!!!!!!

Hmmm. maybe it's the sponges & brushes? If they are disposable and you have to of course use an entire new set person it could be costly?

I know my stylist does not do eyebrow waxing at her shop since it would be like $15 while some places charge $3 - $5. She told me she would have to throw away so many supplies each day (waxing sticks that most places reuse and the wax which most places just reheat and use until it's gone) that it is just not worth it.

I don't really wear or know how to apply make up but I assume it's the same thing - buying a lot of supplies all the time only to throw them away after one use
