Work Invite Protocol

I'd like some opinions on my dilemma regarding whether or not to invite my boss.

My inclination is to leave him off the list for the following reasons:

I would say that if you feel very close to your boss, then invite him. I'm still friendly with my ex boss and she came to the wedding. I talk & see her every now and again, so I felt comfortable in my decision. I invited my new boss and she didn't come, but I figured she wouldn't, but I wanted her to know she was invited. I think she didn't come becasue she is single and would have felt out of place. You have to be the judge of your friendship with your boss. Maybe since you have only known him for a short period, he may not be expecting an invite. Just a thought?!

Hey Again!

From your description I wouldn't invite your boss. I don't think it is necessary at all.
I went to look at a few before my FI told me about him and was completely unimpressed with the work I saw and the prices!

I think from your description you don't have to invite your boss. He does live so far away. If you do decide to send him an invite it is a nice gesture.

We are going to New Orleans for a few days right after the wedding in March and then the land & cruise in Alaska. When are you going? We are about to decide which cruise line and the dates - probably a 12 day trip. What sold you on Princess? We were really leaning towards Celebrity but it's so hard to compare the different ships...
It's going to be spectacular up there. Hardly any darkness in the summer

Invitation vs. Announcement

I chose to send wedding announcements to the co-workers I didn't invite to the wedding. I just printed them on the computer...simple, easy, etc. This way, they were thought of and included in the celebration without 'obligating' them to attend nor a gift...and they were appreciative of the kind thought.

Invitation vs. Announcement

Glory;

That's a great suggestion. The question came up today in a conference call re: what name I'm going with after the wedding.
