Repost from BHB: Cancelling Vendor Advice...

I feel that I might have booked a vendor rather quickly for one aspect (not major like Florist or DJ) for our wedding, and I'm kind of regretting that I didn't look at other vendors before doing so. I have another appointment w/another vendor in August, and I'm afraid that I might end up wanting to go w/them, and will have to cancel the original vendor.

Did you sign your contract yet? Have you looked at their cancellation policy? I haven't had a need to cancel a vendor, but I think if you paid your retainer, they keep it, but I would check your contract.

Sorry to hear of this!

No contract involved. It was a MU trial, and in the excitement of it all, I booked on the spot. It was my first trial.

I think cancelling a Makeup Artist is easier than say you're photopgrapher. If no contract is involved then perhaps you can call them and explain that you would like to take more time to research, as you made a quick decision without doing so.

I think you should have the trial with the other MU artist before you do anything.

You might after the trial still want to go with the original person you booked.
