Registry ?'s: Vacuums, Luggage, Barbeques, Stainless Steel vs. Chrome & More!
Hi!
Some ?'s for ya:
Luggage: which sets have the best attributes/quality for the price? I know TravelPro and Samsonite have great reputations but are very expenesive - is there something I'm missing?
Barbeques: do you have one and where did you get it? Which one do you recommend & why?
Vacuums: for a house that has 1/2 hardwood floor and 1/2 carpet - which one works best for both? At fortunoffs they have a couple - but not too many - some aren't recommended for hardwood floors and now I'm wondering if there is anything out there that satisfies both.
Appliances: Some offer chrome (shiny metal color) and stainless steel (which is less shiny but grey/metal colored) hard to explain. If you want a stainless steel kitchen, do you think it looks bad to have both of these colored appliances together?
Thanks for your input

I registered at fortunoffs. great selection on bbqs. I got stainless steel "silverware" and pots/pans. I wanted something I could throw in the dishwasher. I don't want to have to polish anything. You can also register at sears.

We have the Hoover Windtunnel Bagless Self-Propelled (that's a mouthful! It's the one in the commerical that makes fun of Dyson) They say it cleans 51% better than Dyson. I believe it! this things is GREAT! it picks up everything, every time we vacuum it looks like new carpet! LOVE it. It's very heavy though,so I don't reccomend it if you need to tote it up and downs tairs, but you don't feel the weight at all when vacuuming b/c it's self propelled. It has HEPA filtration, which makes a huge difference to me. With other vacuums I get an allergy attack every time I vacuum. This vacuum is great!
I don't know much about the other stuff. For BBQs I don't recommend theone my sister just bought. It's a Coleman portable, meant for talgating. it's cute, and non stick and stuff, but you have to basiclaly rbing the grill plates in the house and clean them. Not fun!

Re: Registry ?'s: Vacuums, Luggage, Barbeques, Stainless Steel vs. Chrome & More!
we just moved into our apartment and MOH gave us one of our shower gifts early. Her mom bought us the Shark vacuum cleaner from Bed Bath and Beyond....bagless and it came with a bonus cordless sweeper....what an amazing little thing. I've been using it on the carpets and the hardwood floors and it works awsome. It works so well that I haven't even taken the vacuum cleaner out of the box yet!!!! My mother's friend had just bought the shark which is one of the reasons I registered for it. Originally I wanted the Dyson but I figured it was too expensive for someone to buy. I'm glad I switched!

Re: Registry ?'s: Vacuums, Luggage, Barbeques, Stainless Steel vs. Chrome & More!
Dont have much to add on the other items but we just bought the Dyson and Im am blown away by it. Its fabulous on carpet, upolstery, curtains, hard floors, stairs, etc.. Its has great attachments (we have the animal one) and is a powerful upright. It took me more than a year to break down and buy it b/c it seemed like a lot for a vaccum but so worth it!
Im not a bbq expert..but Ive had a few and we always got the cheaper versions over the pricey weber grills. We did this mostly for size but it serves our purposes since we only grill a few times a year. If you grill a lot, it might be worth considering the fancy things.
I dont think anyone will notice if you mix steel and chrome except for you...but if thats the kind of thing that would bother you, its easy enough to find matte finishes to match the stainless.

FH wants the dyson but he forgets one thing. We don't have a home yet so we don't know what our floors will look like. Men and technology - hmmmph!
