VA girls...hair salons?

I'm looking for a decent place to get my hair cut (and not too expensive)... any recommendations? I'm near Tysons, and I'm not against travelling a bit to get somewhere. I'm afraid of Hair Cutters.

I've had good luck at the Bubbles chain of salons. I've been to the one in Landmark Mall and the one in Pentagon City Mall.

I get mine cut at 'miracles' salon...right near the rosslyn metro. They do a great job but maybe a little pricey...i paid $55 for a cut and to blow it out straight..

Avivo Salon in Vienna is very good! Carmen does a great job.

ETA: it's around $45 for a haircut.

I go to PR & Partners in Old Town Alexandria (right on King St.). I really like the girl I've been going to for the past 5 years.

There is a PR & Partners in Tysons, right next to the 'La Madeline' near Crate & Barrel.

$45 is about what I expected to spend anyway... so that's cool.

I've heard of PR & Partners and Bubbles. I'll have to make up my mind.

I probably passed by Avivo today... I was driving along Maple in Vienna today to look for futons. (Found Cold Stone WOOHOO!!!!!) Still getting to know the area.

Go see Ari Hest at Jammin Java in July! I'll be there.

Ari Hest is a singer, he's sort of John Mayer like style. He's from NY and my DH's aunt knows him and his family from the school she works at. He just got a recording contract with a big label (forget which one). But he's really good. I think you can hear his stuff on his website.

I remember your adventure but I didn't know that you were going to PR & Partners. I didn't even realize that the little hair salon in Shirlington was a PR (though I've walked past it probably a million times). Sorry girl! The Tyson's one is easy to get to, about .5 miles off of 495.

I go to Illusions in Shirlington, and I love it!! They have a website, and every month there are some great deals. I have to go every 6 weeks to get my hair dyed.

Okay, I was just about to suggest PR and Partners. I go to the one in Chevy Chase (MD) and its really good. If you want a stylist there, I love Gnoc (pronounced Knock). There are ones closer to you, but I don't know any stylists at any other locations.
