Re: newlywed & makeup trial girls? (poll)

I went with a very light shimmery gold and pink dust from bare escentuals. it wasn't overly dramatic, but brought out my eyes.

Re: newlywed & makeup trial girls? (poll)

I plan on using colors that bring out the color of my eyes. They can still be light colors, but using contrasting colors would bring more emphasis. For instance, if you have blue eyes, shimmery peach or coral will make them stand out. Brown eyes look beautiful in a very pale shimmery green (think MAC's Vex eyeshadow, which has an duochrome pink shimmer to it).

Good luck and just remember to try for makeup ideas that you'll be most comfortable in. If you don't wear a lot of makeup, don't let them force you into wearing the smokey eye if you're not comfortable. Have fun!

Vex is an awesome, awesome shadow. All the duochromes are great. Green eyes look great in plums and purples.

Re: newlywed & makeup trial girls? (poll)

I went with naturals. But, on the morning of the wedding, I decided that I wanted my eyes to be a little deeper, so the makeup guy added more.

eta: take some pics of yourself with your trial makeup. You'll look different in pics that in person.

Green eyes = MAC Trax eyeshadow (shimmery plum) *SWOOOOON* Love that color!

More than just MAC obessessed . . . I am make-up obessessed. Check out www.makeupalley.com if you are, too!

PS - I can't get Trax to work for me, but love Satin Taupe, Mulch, Phloof! and Oceanique for my green eyes (to name just a few!). Now, don't get me started on the pigments . . .

Re: newlywed & makeup trial girls? (poll)

I don't mean to hijack the post, but I had a MAC makeover and really liked it. However, when I took digital photos - they seemed 'whiter' than in person. Any suggestions? Darken the color or hope the photographer's camera will take better photos.
I have dark brown eyes.
MAC used untitled/shell/jest/malt/sable/embark/contrast/print. (copied from my face chart).

Do you mean the eyeshadow or your skin had a whitish cast? The flash on cameras tends to 'white out' the face sometimes...some makeup artists will also put powder on your neck as the light is reflected instead or absorbed (or is it the other way around..?). Some photos will show the face looks somewhat whitish and the neck the natural color if you don't powder that as well. Wow, I'm rambling...sorry!
